Tell me more about yourself…
 I’m Jollibee A. Dalin from Barangay Buhisan Cebu City. I have
graduated last 2016 at Southern Leyte State University with BS
Education major in Biological Science. And last 2018, I passed the
licensure examination for teachers and by the way I have also been
teaching science for almost 3 years at any age levels. I could say
that I am flexible and positive teacher as well as culturally
sensitive teacher as well.
What is the challenging part you have encountered in teaching and how did
you resolve it?
 The most challenging part that I’ve encountered while I was on my
OJT or even in my experiences online or face to face, so it’s
having a diverse group if learners in one classroom. Its really
challenging for me because as we all know the students are all
unique, they do have differences when it comes to culture
religions, attitudes and perceptions in life, mainly their learning
styles. So as educator, I must really adjust, I should really have
differentiated instruction because students are different, there are
visual learners, auditory leaners, kinesthetic learners. So, what I
did was I embraced all types of learning, I integrated differentiated
instruction to accommodate every student preferred way of
learning.
Specific example:
 There was one student who really have a hard time to participate in
the class. She refused to participate in our oral recitation and even
in group activities. What I did was I talked to her personally and I
asked her what’s the reason why she refused to participate in my
class. And you know what, she really told me honestly that I look
strict, and she was afraid to participate, and I told her not to be shy
like this, I motivate her, and we became friends and in the
following days of our classes, she improved, she participated in our
activities, and she volunteer as a leader in our group activity.
How can you uplift the education in the countryside?
 We all know that first problem in the countryside is the school
itself. The facilities. Many schools are non-concrete, or they made
of nipa huts only, with no proper doors, chairs, windows. With
simple infrastructure, countryside schools are extremely prone to
rainwater leaking through roofs and molds on the wall. I will uplift
the education in the countryside by bringing some of my unused
stuffs or recycle things from home to countryside school to make it
safe and conducive to learning. Or I’ll propose a donation program
to help students with their needs mainly the facilities, financial
status of the family and their learning material as well.

Teaching Ability
1. What is your greatest challenge in handling student at risk? How
did you do it and what was the result?
 Tardiness, unwillingness to engaged activities. What I did was I
ask the course and listen, and I share it to the principal to know the
best approach on hoe to solve the problem. I told them that if they
were late, I will let them answer a hard question before they can
enter the classroom. In this way, they are motivated to go to school
early.
2. Cite specific content and how did you make it meaningful to the
students?
The topic was all about volcano. I let them make a DIY Volcano
and I let them use coke and mentos for the eruption. For me, it was
meaningful to the students wherein they learn a lot and they were
very excited and active in volcano making.
3. Describe a time when all your students fail in the assessment. How
did you manage the situation?
4. Share to us how did you handle an over-crowded classroom in
facilitating quality learning?
 For me it is a challenge, but it is possible to make it work. By
carefully planning your instruction to account for your large class,
you can minimize these challenges and teach effectively to a big
group. I experience it teaching grade 7 level with 55 students. it
was challenging because I need to cater all of them and there was a
minimal problem encountered at that time like disruptive behaviors
and minimal interaction with the students. What I did was I used a
seating chart, make a clear rule. I let everyone busy by giving them
activities. I used flexible groupings, for I believe that it keeps
students working on tasks that are just right for them, and it keeps
you in touch with their individual needs. Lastly, I keep my lesson
short to prevent them getting bored. Flexible grouping keeps

5. Cite a strategy that you used in the classroom instruction. How do
you do it? What was the result of students’ assessment?
Today's classrooms implement a variety of teaching strategies to
ensure that students achieve success. As a teacher there is no “one
size fits all” solution, so in my class I used different effective
strategies for me to meet students’ individual needs.
First, I used VISUALIZATION. It helps my students to understand
how their schooling applies in the real world. In my science class,
visualization tools are useful wherein we can provide lot of
examples and show pictures or videos.
Cooperative learning wherein I will group the students of mixed
abilities to work together for a certain task. Activities like
conducting scientific experiments and worksheets. I can say that it
is very effective since it enhances the students’ communication,
develop their self-confidence and critical thinking skills.
Inquiry-based instruction. This can be used in both math and
science subjects. I use this like posting questions and let the
students think of the right answer. And I encouraged students to
raise their questions and investigate their own ideas which can help
improve their problem-solving skills as well as gain a deeper
understanding of the concepts.
 Lastly, is differentiation strategy. I used this because we all know
that every student is unique, they have differences (different
abilities). It helps a lot because it allocates task based on students’
abilities, to ensure no one gets left behind.
And so far, all the strategies I used in my classroom instructions
gives a positive result because everyone in my class participated. It
is challenging, however, using this combination of teaching
strategies helps me to address students’ varying learning styles and
capabilities.
6. Share to us a difficult situation you confronted in the classroom
discipline. How did you solve it?
7. Cite to us your most challenging experience in preparing your
lesson plan. What strategy you employed?
I had this experience way back year 2016 from my practice
teaching experience. At that time, I was having a hard time
preparing my lesson plan. What I found the most challenging in
lesson planning is how to accommodate learners of different levels
and the timing for each activity to finished.  I have taught some
classes that have had students from beginning to advanced level
and it is hard to know how to design a lesson that will appeal to all
of them. What I did was I employed cooperative learning in my
 lesson plan for the activity part wherein students can group
themselves with mixed skills and abilities. To make sure that
beginners can learn from advanced students and the advanced
students can share their ideas and knowledge to the beginners. And
for the timing, I estimated the time for each activity during my
lesson planning. I did the activity myself so that I can estimate the
time. Then, I add an additional time depending on the proficiency
level of the students.
8. What experiences made you skillful in formulating question for
summative assessment?
9. Tell us instances when you had to change teaching methodology
because of the absence of the needed IMS.
10. Give specific example of your employed assessment strategy to
students with varied learning styles.
 I used group presentations sharing what they have learned about
our topic asexual and sexual reproduction. I group them into five
and let them proceed to their respective learning station. Each of
them offers different topics for the student to observe and examine.
Example topics are pollination, vegetative reproduction. I let all
the members of each group to participate and to share their ideas
about the topic assigned to them.
11. Tell us your experience having been assigned to teach a subject
which was not your field of specialization. What did you do?
 As far as I remember, way back 2019. It was my 1st month of
teaching in a private school. It was my vacant time, so I relaxed on
my table while waiting for the next class. One of my co-teachers
was absent, and she was a Filipino major. As per our Principal,
Grade 10 students requested me to facilitate their class. And since I
was vacant at that time, so I said yes even if I’m a little bit nervous
for it was not my specialization. Luckily, their topic was about
“Aspeto ng Pandiwa”. I know the topic and it was not hard for me
to teach them at that time even if it was not specialization. I
discussed what was the topic all about, I gave some examples and
then I let them cite examples too, followed with an activity.
12. Share an experience where you were successful in teaching using a
certain strategy.
 First and foremost were being a successful, I was once
unsuccessful, because what I thought learning is all about pictures,
but now I am confident to share my knowledge experience where I
am successful using a certain strategy.
 The first strategy that I used is cooperative learning. As a teacher I
focus on a work structure task promotes talk, teamwork, and
interaction between my students. Where I act as a facilitator rather
than an instructor. In addition, I also used modelling strategy.
When I want my student to learn to understand and do something, I
show it them first and let them see how it works.
Classroom Management

2. Share an experience where you settled conflicts during your class.
What did you do? What was the result?
 Based on my experience during my teaching in private
school. This was happened in my grade 7 science class.
Wherein these two students teased and fight each other.
What I did was…
 First, I let the students calm down before problem-solving
begin.
 Second, I ask them what the problem was. I let them share
what happened and let them listen to each other issues.
 Third, after they shared their issues or perspective to each
other, I let them to take responsibility of their own
actions. I also ask them some open-ended questions. And
give them some advice.
 Fourth, the good time to learn to compromise. I let them
say sorry to each other and shake their hands.
3. Tell a situation where parents came and complained which
disrupted your class.
 I experience this situation way back 2019. I’m handling
Grade 8 students at that time which was my advisory and
which we had our science class. In the middle of my
discussion, the mother of one of my students entered the
room saying, “excuse me ma’am, are you the adviser of
Roevette?”. And I said yes ma’am, good afternoon. I
assigned this student to be the representative for poster-
making contest that day also. But I did not inform that she
was replaced by her classmate. So, this student cried. No
one informed me of what happened, I thought the contest
was done greatly. Her mother was upset at that time, but I
stayed calm and listen to her concerns. She even insulted
me and questioned me if I am doing my responsibility
towards my students. then, I answered honestly that I did
not know what exactly happened since I had a class
before this section (Grade 8-Dagohoy). No one informed
me and I asked them in our GC if the contest has been
done and they answered YES. I also ask sorry and
apologized to the mother and to my student of what
happened. Luckily, her parent understands me and
apologized to me of her behavior which was being upset.
So, we had settled the problem and now we became
friends.
4. Cite an experience which you were able to motivate challenging
students to participate in the class activities.

5. Share to us some ways you employ to involve non-participative
students to active class discussions.
 In my class, I ask open-ended questions sometimes I even
call on students who don't have their hand raised and I put
students in groups and pairs to encourage participation.
But sometimes my students still struggle.
 I also used collaborative learning wherein I group the
students to finish a certain task. Then I let those non-
participative students to be the leader for each group.
6. Tell me about an instance when you were asked to leave your class
to attend a very important meeting. What did you to ensure
orderliness in the classroom even when you were not around?
 Give them activity to worked on and set a time limit.
7. Give an instance when you dealt with a negative student behavior.
What were the steps undertaken? What was the result?
In my 3 years of teaching in a private school, I always encountered
student with negative behavior. The worst was in grade 7 level,
while I’m in the middle of my discussion about the activity they
were going to do, these two students catch my attention. They’ve
just talking and laughing. I mentioned their names and I give them
special activity to do. The one student listens and move to another
chair which was close to me while the other one student remain on
 his seat and punched the wall of our room. All of us were shocked
by his behavior. At that time, I want to go to the principal’s office
to ask for permission of going to the guidance counselor and to call
the attention of his guardian. But I decided to try to solve the
problem, if not I will proceed to the guidance counselor with his
guardian.
First thing I did was, I talked to him in private, but he was not
answering properly. I talked to him calmly with understanding so
there is no treating conversation.
Second step, I identify the reasons behind his behavior by asking
why you behave that way. Third, I listen to his side or reasons and
tell him that I am willing to help him whatever the problem is.
Forth, after knowing the reasons behind. I will explain to him the
difference between right or wrong. I will explain to him the
consequences of doing such bad behavior.
Fifth, I will not tell him that I will fail him if he does not change
his behavior, instead I will give some advice on what the right
thing is to do, and I will guide him.
Lastly, maintain a clear and consistent communication in that way,
the result was great because he opened to me his problem and he
listened to me.
After that conversation, every time we had our class. He was active
and shows participation in our entire class.
8. Tell us your experience about a student being bullied. How did you
handle it?
9. Tell us about a time when you had to consider conflicting
workloads when planning a task or project. How did you handle
the situation? What was the result?
 This was happened during our intramurals. I was assigned
as the leader for Team Gray way back last September
2019. I was fully loaded at that time because I was
teaching grade 7-9, grade 11-12 and college levels and I
have advisory class. Then, as a leader, I need to plan
everything from the group name, yell, dance
presentations, listing of participants who will join those
sports. What I did was I held a meeting for all members of
team gray, and I assigned a leader for every sport, and
they will be the one to make a list and coordinate to the
athletes. And they will report to me or send to me the
updates. And of course, I will facilitate them, I clearly set
things or a time management. After my class, I will make
that I will update my group. I was having a hard time
because not all my members participated so we have no
participants in some sport. What I did was I joined some
of the sports like speak takraw. Since I’m an athlete and
my sports are badminton and table tennis, I played the
game and became champion.
 Even if we were not the overall champion, still we got the
2nd place.

1. Based on your previous employment, tell us your involvement
creating positive relationship with your co-employee.
 I would say that my relationship with my co-teachers has
been great. We help each other like for example in
making school reports, we use to share our insights or
ideas.
 5. Describe a time when you were late for an activity? How did you
handle the situation?
2. What experience you have encountered in mentoring teacher
towards better performance?
 The experience that I have encountered in mentoring teacher
towards better performance was a motivation to succeed. As a
mentor, I was really amazed and grateful because of the good
quality possess of the management. It ensures me that mentoring is
not wasted, and better performance is achieved based on positive
attitude.
6. Tell us your experience when you were assigned in a far-flung area
with armed conflict? How did you handle the situation?
3. Can you cite to us greatest challenge in organizing activities
involving parents and students?
 Facilitating learning amid pandemics. Parents are involved in
modular distance learning. Wherein, I need to teach or instruct the
students together with the parents on what to do with the activities
given. If the parents don’t really know what to do with the
activities, what should I do to help him/her facilitate his/her child
smoothly? It was happened to me when I was teaching in grade 7
level. I instructed the parents on the procedure to do the given 7. Cite a situation where you were assigned a very challenging
activity. One parent approached me and honestly said that she was activity which contributed to the success of the school’s program
only an elementary graduate, and she don’t know what the and projects
meaning of those words was written in the module. So, what I did 
was I gave her my Facebook account and tell her that I am willing
to help her doing the activity, we can use zoom meeting.

9. Share to us your experience about a student being bullied. How did

you handle it?
 There was a time when I was teaching grade 8 students’ lowest
section wherein most students belong in that section were noisy
and bullies. One student in that section also who was very shy type
of student. In the middle of our class discussion as far as I
remember it was a problem solving, I called the attention of this
student and I let her answer the problem in the board. He stood up
and went in the board to answer. I can see that he tried his best
even if his answer was wrong.
I let him sit in his chair and ask his classmates if his answer was
correct. Some says correct, others not. Then, I explain the answer
to everyone. I was shocked because they throwed crumpled papers
and yelling boo ‘PATAKA RAKAG ANSWER, BOGO”. Those
bully students were getting to my nerves at that time, but I stayed
relax and calm. I stopped the discussion and talked to them about
bullying. I let them know how people are affected and know the
consequences for bullying at school. Afterwards, I requested those
three bully students and the one who got bullied to stand up and

proceed to the vacant room for I need to talk to them. Then, I give
activity to the students left in the room while we are in other room.
I ask the three students if what was their problems. Is bullying
okay with them? They answered no. I give them sets of examples
of those people affected with bullying to make them realized that it
was not good at all. And I also encourage bully student to stand up
against bullying behavior or to report it to me or another adult.
And in that momentum, they asked sorry for their bad behavior and
promise not to do it again.
10. How did you manage your time give additional tasks like a
chairman of a committee having a full teaching load with an
advisory class?
 Committee chairmanship is not every day. Advisory class is given
to us if we are not fully loaded and especially if we have an
ancillary.
 But just in case it will happen, I will allocate time wisely and write
a list and priorities. Just like for example in doing all school forms,
preparing lesson plans and ppts, I always manage my time wisely.
It is my habit to set an alarm of when to start and end this specific
task before I can proceed to the next one.
Why did you apply in depEd?
 I apply in deped because I know that deped will help me to
grow and to make a difference in the student’s lives. Through
teaching I can be able to help students to become globally
competitive individual. It is my passion and I get a great sense
of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as
individuals and that’s the best reward for me as their teacher.
If given the opportunity to be hired, I will focus on the student
because they are the product of education system. I believe
that if they well-taught we will have a better chance of a better
society.
 For me, an effective teacher is someone who can transform
learners to become a better person in the society. An effective
teaching impacts students not only in academic but also
physical, socio emotional and behavioral well-being.
However, an efficient teacher is concerned with teaching and
takes responsibility for the academic success of his or her
students. That teacher has vast of knowledge and skills that
mold the mind of the learners so that they become
knowledgeable.
Do you think you can be an asset to school?
 Yes ma’am. I can be an asset to your school by using my
valuable qualities including self-discipline, perseverance, and
my passion in doing my task in school. I can give the learners
enough learnings and support so that they can grow to their
potential that they can be.
Difficult thing I encountered and how did I resolve it?

 Diverse group of learners in the classroom. They have

different backgrounds, religions, and level of understanding in
lessons and in their life. To overcome it, I try to understand
the perception of each learner, integrate differentiated
discussions so that they can cooperate with me.

Managing behaviors of the students in the classroom.

 In line with that, I will set boundaries by implementing the

rules and regulations inside the classroom. This would involve
respect, response, and the right approach to learning. Aside
from having teaching styles that is appropriate to the students
need, I strongly believe the setting firm boundaries is
important for the students to understand the benefits of
learning and its impact on their future.

Accountability as a teacher..

 The teacher’s responsibility for the students to progress

learning. As a teacher, I should accept ownership over
students performance inside the classroom because it is my
accountability to make sure that they are gaining knowledge
and skills in a friendly classroom environment.
