What 3 problems have you identified from the words you encircled? Make a statement on the space
below.
1. Reading Difficulty
 A large number of students struggle with reading.
2. Connectivity
 Poor internet connectivity jeopardizes many students' academic futures.
4. Comprehension
 Poor comprehension will result from a lack of concentration while reading

Suppose the problem you spotted is COMPREHENSION.

How can you assist your mentor?

The problem that I discovered is Reading Difficulty, so I can have a remedial session to assist my mentor.
Make a choice for your ACTION.
A. Conduct a tutorial lesson
B. Show video lessons.
C. Make a learning task to develop comprehension.

Suppose you choose letter A. Conduct a tutorial. So you identified the solution that matches the
problem.
The Problem is: The Solution is:

Comprehension Conduct Tutorial

Notice
What have you noticed of the problem? Can there be more than one solution to the problem? Explain.
Students frequently struggle with reading, especially in light of the pandemic. The crisis we are
currently experiencing is hindering students' ability to learn to read. The above-mentioned problem
has multiple solutions because relying on a single solution would not suffice to solve the problem.
Remember that there are numerous solutions to every problem that we encounter. We simply need
to investigate and discover these solutions. We must be creative, flexible, and innovative in order to
find multiple solutions to the same problem. For example, a solution may be working in one class but
not in another, so it should always have other options for dealing with problems.
Analyze
Scenario: Miss fely is a Grade Four teacher in a typical elementary school. She has 40 learners in her
class. One half of them cannot classify animals into vertebrates and invertebrates. She has been
repeating the same science lesson for 2 weeks, yet no progress was observed. Identify, Miss Fely’s
problem

PARTICIPATION AND TEACHING ASSISTANSHIP
Yes, of course. I determined Miss Fely's issue to be her students' inadequate knowledge of
vertebrates and invertebrates. Her children are unable to categorize animals using the
aforementioned classification of animals, as was indicated in the case that came before it.
Find or give 2 suggestions to the problem
1. I can suggest to Miss Fely using charts with the animal classification at the top, which will act
as the header. To help all pupils understand the distinction between the two classes, there
are some images of animals from the vertebrate and invertebrate groups below that. She
may use charts and images to aid her students in visualizing concepts. Additionally, her
students may find it simpler to absorb material and draw connections using that approach.
In conclusion, Miss Fely can utilize a graphic to explain the difference between vertebrates
and invertebrates to her students.
2. The utilization of a video presentation on the subject of vertebrates and invertebrates is
something else I can suggest for Miss Fely. Students pick up a lot from what they observe,
thus Miss Fely should consider this. It will also be simpler for her to teach the lesson on the
topic. Her fourth-grade pupils will, in my opinion, pay greater attention to the information if
she shows videos because they will digest, comprehend, and remember it. It is important to
keep in mind that simply discussing vertebrates and invertebrates would make it challenging
for the kids to comprehend; therefore, it would be excellent if she used a video
presentation, as learners at this grade level need a presentation to help them with their
learning.
What solution can solve the problem? How?
The usage of video presentations with content on the subject, out of the two options I gave Miss
Fely, seems to have the best chance of resolving her issue. I think pupils in that grade level will find it
entertaining to watch videos because she works with fourth-graders, and I am convinced that this
approach will solve Miss Fely's problem. The usage of video presentations with content on the subject,

Are they matched with the problem?
Yes, I do think so. The options I suggested earlier fit Miss Fely's issue. The remedies offered deal with
Miss Fely's issue of her students' lack of comprehension of their topic on vertebrates and invertebrates.
Also, as the suggested approach calls for the use of charts and instructional videos, among other visual
and auditory materials, these would help the teacher in elaborating on the subject with her students.
Additionally, this would make it simpler for her students to absorb knowledge and draw connections
between the resources offered on their subject.

Reflect
How would identifying problematic situations and finding solutions to these problems help you to
become a better teacher?
You must be vigilant as a future teacher to spot challenging circumstances. How? By allowing yourself
to focus on the small nuances that take place around you. My ability to look and watch attentively will
improve as a result of learning to recognize problematic circumstances in the classroom and come up
with potential solutions. In addition, it enables me to learn about and appreciate the problems that
frequently occur in schools.

Observe
What problematic situation prevails in the classroom?
Connectivity, involvement, home life, and social standing are all potential trouble spots in the
classroom that could affect how well both teachers and students are teaching and learning.
Reflect
What changes do you want to achieve?
While simultaneously interacting socially with them during the teaching-learning process. In addition, I
want them to take part in all events and understand that there is help and hope out there for them.
Third, I want them to know and believe that I will do everything in my power to help them improv. I also
want them to know that I will do everything in my power to help them cooperate better and have a
more fulfilling educational experience. Finally, I want people to adopt a different perspective and have
confidence in their capacity to change for the better, for themselves.

Plan
What strategies will you use to improve the situation?
I intend to visit them at their home frequently in order to get to know them personally and build a good
relationship with their parents in order to ameliorate the existing scenario. As a teacher, I will be flexible
and sympathetic. It should be possible for parents and students to voice their worries. I will present
myself as a role model to win their trust because I am a firm believer that fostering a positive attitude in
the classroom starts with me. And because praising pupils for their great conduct is an easy yet effective
way to push them to accomplish their best, I will reinforce and reward positive actions. These strategies
will assist students in meeting all of their needs and bringing them to the classroom. I know it's difficult,
but if the teacher and parents are working toward the same goal and heading in the same direction, it
will all be worthwhile in the end.

An Abstract of a Completed Action Research

I. Title Increasing Student Physical Fitness Through Increased Choice of Fitness Activities
and Student Designed Fitness Activities for Ninth Through Twelfth Graders in Physical
Education Class
II. Author/s Margo A. Jacob
III. Abstract This action research project report began when the teacher researcher
determined that students exhibited physical fitness levels below that of the state and
national norms, and also displayed negative attitudes about physical education. The
purpose of this action research project was to increase physical fitness and fitness
attitudes through choices of fitness activities and student designed fitness activities.
Eleven students in high school grade levels 10 – 12 participated in this study from
August 23, 2010 through December 15, 2010. Students’ low fitness levels and negative
attitudes about physical education was determined by the increase in the sedentary
lifestyles of high school students, disinterest in physical education fitness activities, lack
of student input in their physical education classes, the curriculum focus on skill-related

physical education over health-related physical education and the decline in the
enrollment in physical education classes. The teacher researcher used a student survey
to determine students’ attitude toward and interest in physical fitness activities in their
physical education class, a parent survey to identify the physical fitness interests of high
school students as perceived by their parents, the American Red Cross Lifeguarding
Fitness Test, and the Presidential Physical Fitness Test were used to determine the
fitness level of high school students. Through the student survey the teacher researcher
was able to determine that although the students did not have a great interest in their
physical education fitness activities they did believe be fit was important. The parent
survey allowed the teacher researcher to understand how important the parents
believed fitness to be for their children and that the parents believed their children
were physically fit. Through the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Fitness Test it was
determined that the students met the requirements to become a certified Lifeguard.
The Presidential Fitness Test provided the teacher researcher with evidence that while a
few students were unable to meet the standards, a majority of the students were able
to meet or exceed the standards.
IV. Identify the Problem in the Study Students exhibited physical fitness levels below that of
the state and national norms, and also displayed negative attitudes about physical
education.
V. Identify the Action Taken in the Study Increase physical fitness and fitness attitudes
through choices of fitness activities and student designed fitness activities.
