The image describes the life cycle of silkworm as well as the steps involved in the manufacture of silk cloth.

Overall, while it takes up to three months to harvest a silkworm cocoon, silk cloth can be made in about five
steps. It is also worth noting that no sophisticated machinery is required to produce silk fabric.

The natural life cycle of silkworm starts when a mother moth lays eggs. It is then 10 days before silkworm
larvae hatch out from these eggs. Once in larve form, these creatures feed on mulberry leaves for the next
two months or so until they are ready to start weaving a cocoon thread. In about a week’s time, they will have
finished wrapping themselves in a cocoon shell. A new moth emerges from the cocoon in two more weeks.

As for how silk cloth is made, it starts with picking ripe cocoons. The selected cocoons are then boiled in water
for some time. Following this step, each individual cocoon can be unwound into a 300-900 long thread. This
thread is then either dyed right away before being twisted and woven, or coloration takes place following the
making of fabric in a twisting and weaving machine.
