Story 2

Lost in Translation

Ted was a robust American man. He ran a translation center that was built by his father's
company a decade ago. A lot of translators were recruited and they became very famous
among the tourists. One day he had a Puerto Rican female visitor who looked as if she
came out of a fairy tale with her amazing outfit and her blonde hair. Despite of all the
struggles she had been going through due to the cultural differences and the huge language
barrier. She was very optimistic that an interpreter could be found in Ted's center to help
her through her trip. But what happened next was unpredictable; she was Loretta his ex-
girlfriend 12 years ago but their relation ended badly when he told her that she was too slim
for him. Any action that would be taken at this moment would be tricky. He tried to act
naturally and just get everything about their prices demonstrated as simply as possible.
Their interaction was very smooth. This is when a turnaround of events happened when his
wife came. She was her closest friend so the wife’s aggression was notable. She slapped him
on his cheek and dramatically left the whole center saying this is pretty frustrating, I hate
you because you still love her!
