_DISCLAIMER_

Just like all of my previously published materials I do not claim this to be my original because the bicycle
cards have been around for long and the idea this is based on has been is ancient.

I have done my part of research and have shared it with some experienced people. None of them could give
me any lead to this being in existence. In case you’ve any idea of it being in existence - please let me know,
I’ll be happy to share the credits.

Marked cards are of 2 types – Readers and Coders. The former has the identity explicitly stated or covertly
disguised in the back design, latter has certain marks that form a code which reveals the identity of the card.

While Pigment and Pixel had one of each; Pigment and Pixel 2.0 you’re going for the latter only.

These marking systems are based on an analogue wall clock. The method / mnemonic employed by me is
by no means is what you need to stick to, experiment with it and see what you’re comfortable with.

You need 3 things –

1. A deck of cards
2. Marker with a similar coloured ink as the back of your cards
3. Patience

Do not forget to mark the cards from both the short sides if you don’t need a one way marked deck.

PIGMENTATION
The circled design is what will be marked to indicate the value and suit
of each card. You read the lower side (the side towards you) of the
card.

A music genre is called R&B (Rhythm & Blues) and in playing cards we
have R&B (Red and Black) suits.

The left circle is for the RED while the right is for BLUES.

Imagine the circular flower design as a wall clock with 8 hours.

You fill in until 8 and then move on with double lines.
The KING stays clean.

The white dot in the middle will tell us the suit.

VALUES The images shows quite a few white spots because it has been magnified over 7 times

ONE i.e., ACE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX

ELEVEN TWELVE
SEVEN EIGHT NINE TEN
i.e., JACK i.e., QUEEN

KING stays CLEAN and will only be marked for suit

I personally prefer the above one because it gives me better visibility, you can also try the inverted ones
like below.

ONE i.e., ACE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX

and so on... The KING stays CLEAN and will be only marked for suit.

SUITS
If the LEFT circular design is marked it means it is a RED CARD, if its RIGHT it means it is a BLACK CARD. (R & B, page 1).
The central dot is left untouched its Hearts (Left design) or Spades (Right design), because both of them look similar.

Coloured Left Central Dot = Diamonds Coloured Right Central Dot = Clubs The lower arc will be marked for the King of Hearts (left)
Visible central dot is Hearts Visible central dot is Spades and King of Spades (right)

EXAMPLES
note that both the short ends have been marked, unless you want a one way marked deck

Five of Hearts Six of Diamonds Ace of Spades 10 of Spades

The Inverted Ones ==>

Jack of Clubs Five of Diamonds Two of Hearts

PIXELATION
This is how the marks for the values look like. It is again
based on a clock face and just like before King will be left
Clean and will only be marked for suit.

Now the marks I use is not the kind of mark on the right.
You can find it in the example section. It is there just for
demonstration.

_FINAL WORDS_
Like any coder marked deck, you’ll need to spend some time to get habituated to the codes.

In my personal experience I’ve found that not all marked deck / marking system are great for all kinds of
routines. If you’re into marked decks or getting started into it, I think you’ll find plenty of material out there
that will work smooth with this marking system.

If you liked Pigment & Pixel 2.0, do take a look at my other works available via major retailers.

You’ve stuck around to the bottom. It means you kind of liked it, I would appreciate if you post a review
about it and will be grateful if you talk about it in the forums and café as well.
