The spirit of sacrifice for religion has been expressed repeatedly by the Family of the Prophet(‫ )ﷺ‬throughout the life of our
Ummah up to the present day; for their love of the Prophet(‫ )ﷺ‬they bore unfathomable burdens by means of which the
community was relieved, protected and preserved. Their great patience, courage, enthusiasm, and steadfastness for Islam are
matchless. 

Honoring THE FAMILY of Prophet(‫)ﷺ‬  

Allah Most High has accorded great status to the family of the Holy Prophet (
‫)ﷺ‬. Allah Most High has ordered one and all to
love the Prophet’s Family through the Holy Quran:  Say: I do not ask for any recompense for this (preaching the faith in
Prophethood), but (seek) love for (my) kindred (and Allah’s nearness). ►{Surah Al-Shura (42:23)}

There is a Hadith in Jame’ Tirmidhi about loving Prophet(‫ﷺ‬ )’s family: Translation: It is narrated on the authority of Hadhrat
‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (May Allah be well pleased with them), he says: The Holy Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬said: “Love Allah because He
blessed you with His bounties. For the love of Allah, love me and for my love, love my family.“►{Jame’ Tirmidhi, Hadith
No. 3722}

THE ARK OF SALVATION  

According to Ibn Abbas(RA), “Allah’s Messenger‫ ﷺ‬said: ‘The likeness of the people of my household is the likeness of Noah’s
ark. If someone sails upon it,he will be granted salvation, and if someone fails to board it, he will drown.’ - Reported by
al-Tabarani, al-Bazzar and al-Hakim.

In one report: According to Abd Allah b. al- Zubayr(RA): “If someone sails upon it, he will be safe and sound, and if someone
abandons it, he will drown.”[Set forth by •al -Tabarani in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, 12/34 §2388, 2638,2636, & in al-Mujam al-
Awsat, 4/10 §3478; 5/355 §5536; 6/85 §5870, & in al-Mujam al-Saghir, 1/240 §391; 2/84 §825. •al- ¤¥kim in al-Mustadrak,3/163
§4720. •al- Bazzar in al-Musnad, 9/343 §3900]
The grace and benevolence of Allah Most High demand that we should love Him. To be able to love Allah Most High, we should
love the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and to be able to love the Holy Prophet(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam), the
Family of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) should be loved. It is as if the love of the Prophet(Sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam)’s Family is a step towards the love of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). If anybody desires proximity and
closeness of Allah Most High and wants to enter His presence, the only way for this is to love the Prophet's Family. This love will
grant closeness to the Holy Prophet(Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) and through the proximity of the Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam), that person will attain proximity of Allah.

There is another Hadith in Sunan Ibn Majah and Jame Tirmidhi.

The Holy Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said: By Him who holds my life in His hands, faith cannot even enter the
heart of the person, who does not love you (The Prophet’s Family) for the sake of Allah Most High and their relationship
with me. ►{Jame’ Tirmidhi, 3691;Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith No. 137}
