To the Editor: On June 17, North Warren Regional High School graduated 201 members of the Class of 2011. With a clear weather radar at 5pm, administration decided to hold the ceremonies in the stadium, rather than the small and hot gymnasium, as we were forced to for the past four years. Unfortunately, a storm cell literally exploded over our ceremonies just as they were getting underway. With the help of many, we were able to move back inside and conduct a memorable graduation

ceremony. The purpose of this letter is to thank all of those students, staff members, parents, and others who helped to move the ceremony inside during the cloudburst. While no one could have predicted the downpour, I am grateful for the apparent good humor with which the community reacted t o the situation and the move back inside. Congratulations again to the NWR Class of 2011! Sincerely, Brian D. Fogelson, Ed.D., Superintendent

Boy Scout Troop 416 of Independence, NJ held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Daniel Wilson Luberto on June 4th, in the sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church in Hackettstown. Luberto is the seventh scout to earn the rank of Eagle in Troop 416s 10-year history. Luberto, now 18 and a 2011 graduate of Hackettstown High School, earned 29 meritbadges and constructed an outdoor reading area for the new Northeast Branch of the Warren County Library for his Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project. With the guidance of his mentor, Steve Egan, and help from his fellow scouts, he built four park benches, two planters and two end tables under an existing pergola, to which the scouts added a lattice roof for shade. The Township Committees of Liberty and Independence each passed proclamations marking the achievement. Special recognitions were presented at the ceremony by Senator Michael Doherty on behalf of the 23rd Legislative District; Warren County Freeholders Richard Gardner and Jason Sarnoski; Al Martin for the Warren County American Legion; and Bob Drake and Steve Godding representing the churchs United Methodist Mens group. Also participating in the ceremony were Scoutmaster Thomas Williams; Assistant

Scoutmasters Pat Hawkins, Dan Irons and Eric Maney; Committee Chair Greg Lake; Rev. Joseph McCarthy; former Advancement Chair Renee Smith; Eagle Scouts Sean Gilmore and Erich Wilson; acting Senior Patrol Leader Thomas OMara; and the scouts of Troop 416. Lubertos scouting career began in 1999 as a Tiger Cub in Liberty Townships Pack 138. He is the son of Arthur and Holly Luberto of Great Meadows and is a lifelong Warren County resident. This fall, he will be attending American University in Washington, D.C. to study Film and Media Arts in its School of Communication. Troop 416 is sponsored

by the United Methodist Men of Trinity UMC and holds its weekly meetings there. For more information on Troop 416, please visit http://www.bsa416.org.
