Directions: Answer each of the following questions.
1. What immediately came into your mind when you enrolled in this subject?

When I enrolled in this subject, the first thought that came into my mind Is that I will
be assessed. My macro skills will be put into assessment and I will be taught to be better

2. As an education student majoring English, what ideas do you have about Macroskills?

As an education student, The idea I have in my head about Macro skills is that it is a
major skill that an educator should learn because it plays a big role on communication. And if
we know how to communicate well, it will help us in our present situation and future career
of being an English major teacher.

3. What do you expect to learn for this semester now that you are enrolled in Macroskills?

I expect that I will learn something that will enhance my skills in reading, listening,
writing, talking, and other things related to them that will really help me to be better.

4. What personal benefits do you think you will gain in studying this subject? How about as
a future teacher, what benefits will learning about Macroskills provide you?

One of the personal benefits I will gain in this subject is that when I am competent with this
skills, there are many opportunity paths could probably available for me. And as a future
teacher, It is a gain when you taught your students about Macroskills and they actually use it.
It is a success for a teacher to see their students to be successful.

5. What do you think are the different competencies/ skills involved in Macroskills?
Provide an illustration. Make it a visual presentation of the components of
Macroskills.

6. Macro skills refer to the primary, key, main, and largest skills set relative to a particular
context. It is commonly referred to in English language. Explain the bolded italicized part
of the statement. How do you understand it?

Based on my understanding it is somehow about connection or communication. I think it


is about connecting two things or is designated for a particular subject.

7. Define each of the following concepts in the teaching of Macroskills:


A. Language teaching- Language teaching is an act of teaching with the idea of
implementing Macroskills. When you teach a language it includes the effectivity on
how a teacher provide an input and the students to make an outcome with the
essence of effective macroskills.

B. ESL- ESL or English as a Second Language is a program for people to learn the rules
on speaking, reading listening and writing formally in English language.

C. Pedagogy- Pedagogy is a teaching method which involves different teaching styles


and culture which could help in learning different skills.

D. Teaching principles- These are guidelines to follow that makes teaching and
learning more effective.

8. As an education student, what do you think is the difference between the terms:
teaching and assessment?
As an education student, my understanding about the difference between teaching
and assessment is that, teaching is the act of sharing your knowledge as a teacher and
passing them to your students without the guarantee that they will use it. While
assessment is not teaching but observing or assessing the person or situation if they met
the required standards.
