Weekly Scripture Studies – BITTER OR CRITICAL (Week 4)

Monday: BE YE TRANSFORMED

Matthew 7:1-5 may seem to just be referring to how we should not just others. However, it’s also speaking
of transformation and why it’s important. The scope of the impact you can have in your brethren’s life, and
its effectiveness, depends on the depth of transformation of the Holy Ghost that you permit in your life.

Seek transformation of your whole being – that way, your encounters with the brethren will not be full
hypocritical assistance but an honest move to spread the transformation the Holy Spirit brings. Verse 7 says
all you have to do is ask.

When this happens, bitterness has no room in your life. Because not only are you transformed, but those
around you as well.

Tuesday: GOD’S WORD IS THE FINAL SAY

1 Corinthians 4:5 lets us understand - All hope isn’t lost without God’s approval. When God’s comes into a
situation, no matter the root cause, He will settle issues. Be it environmental, human or personal faults that
cause the situation to become critical, He can turn things around for your good. That every man may praise
Him. Seek God’s verdict about every situation.

Wednesday: ARE WE REALLY NOT TO JUDGE?

Romans 14:10-13 lets us know that while our intention for doing something may be good, if we go about it
the wrong way, it loses its usefulness. The Bible is not saying we shouldn’t correct others or look out for
others. Rather, it’s letting us understand that the process is as important as the intention. That’s how we can
get the best results – right intent mixed with adequate process. Do be judgmental or speak contemptuously
but rather correct from the standpoint of love and care.

This way, bridges are not burned and in critical situations, God has more avenues through which he can
assist you.

Thursday: HOW CAN YOU FEEL BITTER WHEN GOD IS IN CONTROL?

In verses 21 and 22 of Psalm 73, the Psalmist relates moments when he felt bitter and hurt to being senseless
and ignorant like a beast. Why? Because when we are under God’s leadership, and trust His guidance, we
need not be affect by how situation seem to be progressing because God is at our life’s helm. That’s why he
can boldly say – “Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You, I desire nothing on earth.” (verse 25).
Friday:

My flesh and heart may fail but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. For behold, those
who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who are unfaithful to You. But as for me, the
nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord God my refuge, That I may tell of all Your Works.
