(Week 3)

Monday: DEATH IS NOT A HOPELESS SITUATION

When people experience loss, especially the death of a loved one, they allow themselves to
wallow in sorrow and stay on the edge of depression due to the pain that came with the loss.
Scripture lets us understand, in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, that death is not a hopeless
situation. There’s a hope that we can cling to – life after death… in Christ Jesus.

Tuesday: IS YOUR FAMILY SAVED?

Like I said on Monday, death is the indication of hopelessness. This is because as Christians,
it is not our final destination. Verses 15 – 17 shows us how the dead who are in Christ will
rise again and be reunited with their Father in Heaven and brethren when Jesus returns for
his bride the Church. Thus, while we may weep for a while over the loss of a loved one or
friend, our joy comes from knowing we will be reunited again by the side of Our Heavenly
Father.

That is why we must take it upon ourselves to ensure that all that encounter us have an
opportunity to know Jesus and a chance to accept his as Lord and Savior. When Christ
returns for his bride – the Church – there will be no room left for regrets.

We can find solace and move on from sorrow and depression, when we have a solid hope
that the lost one’s final destination is in the arms of our Father in Heaven.

Wednesday: WHERE THERE’S AN END, THERE CAN BE NEW BEGINNINGS

“4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor
crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write,
for these words are true and faithful.”
Revelations 21:3-5

Do not fear endings. Be expectant of the new beginnings that arise because of an end. The
faithful and true God, our Lord and Master, has given us an assurance – he makes all things
new. When it seems like all is lost, seek the one who can make anew. Be confident because
his presence in your life and your fellows with him will kick-start new beginnings for you.

Thursday: YOU CAN FIND COMFORT IN GOD

The Gospel rapper, FLAME illustrated Psalms 147:3 in his song START OVER from an
interesting angle:

Everybody's got a blank page God the Father sent the Son
A story they're writing today So men can come and be free and ain't gotta run no
A wall that they're climbing more
You can carry the past on your shoulders Come to me, all who are weary with heavy burdens,
Or you can start over I'll give you rest
Regrets, no matter what you've gone through And when them waves come crashing in, I'll calm the
Jesus, He gave it all to save you winds in your defense
He carried the cross on His shoulders So, whatever it is that you've done
So you can start over He put that punishment on His Son
Don't let your heart be troubled, don't be afraid You'll never come under His condemnation conquer
To the broken-hearted that wished that they'd sin and Satan, and his accusations
Never been born, never been torn, never sinned, So, dry your eyes, lift up your head
never disobeyed Hallelujah! God is not dead!
I know you think there's no hope, but that ain't true, Plus He gave us His peace, and He took our guilt on
Jesus saves! the cross instead
Took our place and now we embrace
See, His love is deeper than the ocean floor A clean slate with the eyes of faith
Run to His arms like an open door

Psalm 147:3 - He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Be it disappointment
from another or at yourself for not progressing as fast as you should, God is a shoulder we
can lean on – to find comfort and confidence to come out of the ditch we’ve found ourselves.
No lies of the devil can tell us otherwise.

Friday: IF GOD BE WITH US, WHAT CAN WE NOT DO?

Revelation 21:3-5
3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He
will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their
God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor
sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

When we have God, he makes up for the things we may have lost. He is ever remolding us to
become better versions of ourselves.
