    Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strains D203 and D2018 were tested for their antibacterial properties against three pathogenic bacteria - Fusarium solani, Vibrio harveyi, and Vibrio parahaemolyticus. Using the agar well-diffusion method, wells containing the Bacillus strains were placed on nutrient agar plates seeded with the pathogens. After 48 hours of incubation, clear zones of inhibition were observed around the wells for both Bacillus strains against all three pathogenic bacteria, demonstrating their antibacterial activities.

    Material and Method

    Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strain D203 and D2018 spore suspension :


    106 CFU/ml

    Scientific Name Strain Number


    Fusarium solani NJM 0178
    Vibrio harveyi NBRC 15634
    Vibrio parahaemolyticus NBRC 12711

    Antibacterial test for each bacteria was determined by the agar well-diffusion
    method. A 50 µl volume of B. amyloliquefaciens strain D203/D2018 spore
    suspension was applied into wells (7mm in diameter) in the nutrient agar plates
    already seeded with 100µl of the test bacteria strain. All test plates were
    incubated aerobically at 27℃ for 48 hours and observed the inhibition zones by
    strain D203/D2018.
    Result

    B. amyloliquefaciens strain D203/D2018 inhibits the growth of all tested


    bacteria on the nutrient agar plate.
