Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act is a law that seeks to protect
all forms of information, be it private, personal, or sensitive. It is meant to cover both natural and
juridical persons involved in the processing of personal information.

In our pursuit to empower all government agencies and Local Government Units on the
importance of Data Privacy Awareness, The DICT, in collaboration with the eBIZolution, Inc., is
inviting all to attend the Data Privacy Awareness Seminar that will be kicked off on August 19,
2022. It will be followed by a series of Webinars for Local Government Unit Chief Executives,
Data Managers and Representatives.

The Kick Off aims to formally launch the Data Privacy Awareness Seminar Series with the
endorsement of all Regional Directors, Provincial and Local Chief Executives. As Data Privacy
Issues loom in both the public and private sectors, our goal is to receive the full support of all
partner agencies. The DILGs system of coordination and cooperation among local chief
executives is imperative to ensure LGU’s participation and compliance to this endeavor. As the
country pushes forward with its vaccination program, the DOH’s input and involvement is equally
as important to ensure the development of a productive, resilient, equitable and people-centered
health system for Universal Health Care.

Allow us to discuss with your team, salient points on the implementation of the Data Privacy Act
of 2012, which the government in recent years, has been actively monitoring as to its
implementation.

We are inviting you to the Data Privacy Awareness Seminar Kick Off on August 19, 2022. This
will be held online, and facilitated by Raymund Liboro, the country's first Data Privacy
Commissioner, and staunch supporter of the said law.

The Kick Off Meeting on August 19, 2022 will be followed by a series of seminars targeted per
region and we are counting on the support of our partner agencies to urge and compel all Local
Chief Executives to do the same.
