Act 1:

can make people's senses garbled/jarbled, distorted: the user's face can't be
understood, it looks like nonsense; their voice sounds like a mess; they find it
hard to trust their feelings, sensations are unclear: where a sound is coming from,
where they were touched, and so on; can make memories become untrustworthy, less
detailed, you can't trust yourself and you don't remember things at an increasingly
growing rate.

Act 2:
can make physical actions garbled: a hit on their body will become basically
nothing, the effect fizzling into air; an object's existence can become more
distorted and less defined, maybe their fingerprints aren't there, they look
blurry.
