Dear Rosemond,

I do know how upset you are with me for missing the birthday bash. My dear please do forgive me as
you are aware I was not able to secure the needed permission to leave the base.

I am currently leading a huge training program for new recruits and this is always a very challenging
affair. I need to be available since a lot of the recruits are still adjusting to the challenges of military
work. In a few weeks they will find their feet as they start to adjust and then I will be able to leave
the base and come visit.

I have been planning on taking you the new hotel over the hill. I have heard only wonderful things
about their buffet. I know this is the only way I could possibly please you for missing the party. It is
my hope that my plan is sufficient to make up for unholy sin of missing the party. Do forgive me my
dear. Extend my greetings to your sister and especially your mom. Tell her I want a pie on my next
visit.

I will communicate my arrival date later.

Best regards,

Charles.

Vacation for a month.

Hello Rosemond,

Hope you are doing very well.

I will be leaving for the Maldives on the first day of next month. And in our last conversation you said
you will arrive on the second day of the month. Because I will not be around when you arrive, I will
leave the key to the apartment with my neighbor, Ms Thompson.

She is the one we met the last time you were around. I have already informed her you will come for
the key and she has no problem assisting you when you arrive.

I however need you to take care of a few things for me when you do. First is not to forget to feed the
fishes in the aquarium every morning. I have left enough feed for them in a container on top of the
aquarium.
Also please do remember to always turn off the outside light in the morning. Electricity is very
expensive here and you know how tight I am now with money.

Last thing is to always make sure you lock both locks on the door when you leave the apartment. Its
not safe just locking one. My neighbors when recently been burgled a few times so do not leave
anything to chance.

In case you are home and feel lazy to cook, you can go to the new bar across the street. They do
have some tasty fried rice and a variety of chicken options. Its not so expensive but don’t get
addicted. In the evenings there is also a new pub by the hospital and it gets very lively there
especially after 8 pm.

Please call me if you need me.

Best Regards

Charles.

FORMAL LETTER

Dear Sir,

My name is Charles Wilberforce and a resident of your constituency. I have been living at Number 15
Ambassadorial Enclave for the last fifteen years now.

The reason I am writing to you is to draw your attention to the deteriorating road that connects are
neighborhood to the N1 highway. For the last year, a pothole near the intersection of the N!
highway has been expanding and is now causing serious traffic and I fear if this pothole is not fixed I
could lead to some fatalities for road users in the near future. I have personally witnessed a lot of
problems for drivers who try to avoid the pothole. Some swerve into on-coming traffic and this is
increasingly getting dangerous.

I am aware you do have the power to commit resources to the fixing of this problem. I do think it will
take less than a day’s work to fix this problem before any fatality comes because of this pothole.

My concerns do reflect the concerns of all others living in the community and those who also use the
road.

Counting on your cooperation.

Yours faithfully,

Charles Wilberforce

FORMAL LETTER TO AIRLINE

Dear Sir / Madam,

My name is Charles Wilberforce from Accra Ghana. On Friday 13 th May I missed your flight from
Accra to Dubai. The reason I missed the flight was because of congestion at the airport entrance due
to broken power line just at the entrance of the airport.
When I arrived at the entrance of the airport, I noticed other passengers were also stranded at the
entrance due to the dangers the fallen power line posed. I immediately called you support desk to
let them know some passengers were stranded right outside the airport and requested the airline to
delay the flight by a few minutes to allow us to make the flight. However, this did not happen and
we missed the flight because we were fifteen minutes late. I was scheduled for an interview with a
large multinational cooperation in Dubai that day. Because I missed the flight I missed the interview
which could have turned out to be a life-changing experience for me.

I have flown with your airlines for years now but this experience was the worst for me.

I humbly request that your airline in the future does consider being more accommodating to
customer request for flight delays as some situation can be outside of the customers control.

Hope my request is favorably received.

Yours faithfully,

Charles Wilberforce

WORK AND SCHOOL LETTER

SEMI FORMAL LETTER

Dear Mr. Johnson,

Hope my letter finds you well.

As you are aware I work for a bank and my work is very challenging. I have recently been moved to
another branch to attend to some high-net-worth clients.

Even though this is a show of confidence in me by the bank, the problem is i will be closing quite late
nowadays. The earliest I have left the office since I took up the post is around 8 pm. Closing from
work at this time means I can only reach get to your class earliest by 10 pm. I really do want to
complete the course, I don’t see how I can do it with my current workload.

I have thought about this and I will like to defer my course for the rest of the semester so I can
concentrate on the work for now. I would however want to join the next batch next year. It is my
hope that by that time I would have found a way to better manage work and schooling. Please do
feel free to share any advice you might have on this situation.

Thanks for your patience with me throughout this period. I really enjoyed your class and I will miss it
too.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely,

Charles Wilberforce
Neighbor Keeping Animal Letter.

SEMI FORMAL

Hello Thomas,

I have been trying to call you for days now but it seems you are avoiding my calls.

I have complained several times about where you keep your parrots in your garden. Your parrots are
truly nice birds but they just keep disturbing my family all day and all night. For the last few days the
noise has been worse. They just keep making all kinds of noise and we can no longer tolerate it.

We are not able to get a good night’s rest simply because your parrots just won’t keep quiet. During
the nights they make so much noise it keeps the kids and the new baby up all night. This is affecting
my wife and also the kids are they sleep in class during the day. Personally I am also feeling the
effect and I think you really need to do something about it.

I suggest you return them to the garage where you used to keep them. We didn’t have a problem
when you kept them in that part of your house.

Am very sorry to say this but if you do not address this I will have no choice to but escalate this to
the homeowners association or even to the police. I know its your house but the noise comes to my
house too.

Counting on your cooperation.

Regards,

Charles Wilberforce

ESSAYS

4 to 5 paragraphs

Start with introduction

Give an opinion if required in the introduction.

Explain your idea and give examples briefly

Capital punishment.

In my opinion, I do not believe capital punishment should be removed as a form of punishment.

In modern society, we are thought that all men are born equal. But laws govern how we relate to
each other in our various societies. Over the last couple of decade capital punishment has been
removed as a punishment from the law books or many countries. However, in my opinion it should
be left on the books as a deterrent for society. Some crimes so de
ESSAY ON PREVENTING DISEASES

The opinion is its not better to invest only in either research or prevention.

It will be better to balance investment in both research and preventative measures. We cannot
foresee all diseases that may occur, but we can develop technologies that can help us prevent such
diseases or technologies that will give us a better understanding of such diseases.

We need research to develop science to help us develop technology to understand and fight
diseases. But covid pandemic and other epidemics have thought us it’s not enough.

We also need investments in preventative technologies to help us fight diseases that may occur. The
development of testing tools and kits helped with the fight against covid. This made people much
more self-aware to prevent getting infected with covid.

ACCIDENT CONTROL

Road accidents are very common in my part of the world. In the last few years, the government has
increasingly been educating the public about the carnage on our roads.

Speed limits and road signs have always been installed on all major roads in the country. Road
engineers have always incorporated signs and other preventative designs like rumple strips and
speed ramps on the roads. However, road accidents are on the rise on these very roads that already
have these preventative designs.

Others argue that a much more radical approach is needed the curb the current upward trend in
road accidents. one such approach by the police service is to have dedicated a team at various
sections of major highways that record the high number of fatalities as another preventative
measure. In this case drivers risk prosecution if they are caught flouting road traffic regulations. This
has worked to a point as drivers are now much aware of the points where there is polic presence
and avoid reckless driving at these areas. However, some drivers flout road regulations in areas
where they know there is no police presence.

Another suggestion is the constant expansion and development of the roads in such a way and
manner that will reduce the chances of road accidents. this will require significant investments into
the road network by the government.

In my opinion, I have heard a lot about how most accidents are caused by reckless drivers on our
roads. I do believe that constant education of the need to obey and follow road regulations and rules
will help to reduce the carnage on the streets. No matter the investment that is made on the street,
if drivers do not follow the rules and regulations there is bound to be conflict with could lead to
accidents and fatalities.
