Course Overview:
In this course we will learn how play one of four Mariachi instruments. The Piano Accordion, Trumpet, bass
guitar, or guitar. Each student will be required to learn how to read music and play on their chosen of
instrument. Later, in the year as each student progresses, students will be REQUIRED TO PERFORM for
their families and peers at school.
Weighted Grade Scale Grading Policies

20% - Final/Musical Performance Late Work: We be accepted during class time or by submitting
30% - Classwork a google classroom video. Students can receive up to 75% of
20% - Attendance/Participation original points awarded.
15% - Quizzes
15% - Presentations Absences: Parents must call in to excuse. If excused you will
be given full credit on assignment, if unexcused it will be
Letter Grade Scale considered late.

Participation: Is important to passing this class. Students

A - 90% to 100% must stay on task and use their time wisely.
B – 80% to 89%
C – 70% to 79% INSTRUMENTS: Will be used daily!! You must take care of
D – 60% to 69% it if not, you will be charged for the damages!!
F – 59% or lower

Class Rules:
1. Be present and ready to go before the bell rings!!
2. All electronics must be put away when bell rings except for school iPad.
3. Bring ALL required materials DAILY.
4. Disruptions to instruction will not be tolerated.
5. Respect the school’s property, your classmates’ property, and your teacher’s property.

Technology Use Expectation:

Phones, iPods, ipads, earbuds, earphones must be used properly. Any derogatory language, pictures, and
videos will be subject to suspension. Please have your device charged and ready for use every day. If you
are experiencing technology problems, please email me so I can get the right people to fix your device.
