DESIRE OF AGES CAHPTER 7 SUMMARY

Jesus did not have the opportunity to attend school, but his mother was his first teacher, and he
also studies God’s law. He had the abilities, but he never exploited them to make his work as a
carpenter easier. Even though he lived in Nazareth, a city filled with temptation and other vices,
Jesus lived a holy life, glorifying God in all circumstances. No matter his surroundings, Jesus
still stayed faithful to God. His home training and values helped him a lot. Jesus didn’t have the
same privileges as us, but he got to study the bible with his mother’s guidance.

Mary obtained wisdom through the Holy Spirit in order to raise Jesus. In order for us to bring the
Bible religion into our homes and work lives we must have patience, spirituality and
cheerfulness for God. He created beings of this earth were happy when they were cheered up by
the melody of Jesus’ songs. Jesus shows sympathy to our hearts by showing himself
sympathizing for others.

The three (3) things Jesus studied were plants, animals and MAN, for us to develop our mental
and moral power we must communicate with God through prayers. The attitude that Jesus bears
the burdens for us was that he was a willing servant and a loving and obedient son. Jesus does
not appreciate that there should be distance between poor and rich being. Jesus did not receive
his education from the synagogue schools; he received his education from his father (GOD).
Jesus learned about heavenly things from his mother and the prophet scrolls. Jesus’ instructor
was God, just as how God is our instructor. He learnt from nature. He acknowledge god as his
father, he also knew that there was time for everything. He is the perfect example for the youths
to follow to get to the father.

When Satan tried everything to bring Jesus into sin, he always remembered the scriptures and
resisted so that he can stay pure. Even though he was born poor he never complained or
questioned why he was born as such. He made do with it and did his fair share of work as a
carpenter helping is human father.

Every living thing, whether plant or animal goes through stages of growing. Nothing is mature at
birth. Growth takes time; nourishment and sometimes much help and care. Like and infant,
human being spiritual growth takes place like a tree which has roots in good fertile soil. Roots
collect its food from the earth in much the same way the Christian is planted in Christ. He needs
to be rooted and grounded in Christ and in his word. As we read God’s Word, think upon it and
pray for God’s help and blessings that he not only understand the promises and the teachings but
applies them to his daily life. You may have made mistakes. Christ loves you still and will
forgive your sins. Turn to Christ with repentance and confession. Consider the Lily and the
mustard seed: no one can grow as a Christian, who is planted in the wrong soil. You cannot have
roots in sinful things while trying to stand in your own strength. To succeed as a Christian, build,
reflect and live Christ.
