“Look what my kid brother did with Western”
This is a home-made bullet punched paper target. This is not only it. This is much more than that. An advertisement of ammunition during World War II. “Western” is the cartridge company of Illinois. Two soldiers are holding letters from their homes. One soldier is showing what his kid brother did to the enemy in his drawing. The joy on his face is showing mighty proud for his kid brother. And the other soldier is expressing admiration. The drawing is showing a part of learning early to burn the bull’s eye out of a target with a rifle. In World War II, millions of soldiers participated. This was the era when brothers of millions of families grew learning to be the straight shooters. West has remained the champion of ammunition for decades. Since then and even before, this has been one of the greatest industries in the America. Russia and Israel have been the competitors in this race. The Advertisement is for business purpose but it is also depicting patriotism. The “Western” is trying to earn the trust of the shooters. American democracy gives every individual a reasonable chance to advance. “Western” is an outstanding example of how democracy works. One of the nation’s greatest enterprises is showing the preparedness of the nation that, when war began, they were there.
