1. In this lesson, I learned that skimming is
a reading strategy that is used to hunt for primary or basic concepts in a text without reading it
thoroughly.
2. I learned that scanning is
the process of swiftly reading a text in order to discover specific information.
3. I learned that extensive reading is
the act of reading lengthier, easier books for a prolonged amount of time without losing concentration,
feeling overwhelmed, or needing to take pauses.
but it is not. As back as I can remember, I have
never felt that everyone in the world was equal.
The truth is that there is no equality, only
prejudice and racism.
The author presents her message in such a way
that it captivates the readers, allowing them to
visualize her words as images. Using analogies,
images, and repetition.
The author's straightforward yet attractive method
of expressing herself in the poem ensured that the
message she was attempting to communicate was
received by her readers. She was able to utilize
words to send a message about prejudice and
racism throughout the world, which definitely
touched many people's emotions.
The subject in the poem made me realize how
serious this matter is for everyone. Nonetheless, it
made me pleased to think that there are still nice
individuals in the world that aspire for a life like
this. A life in which everyone is treated equally.

text is quickly identified. The
goal is to read
shorter texts to extract accurate
detailed information. Skimming
is done at speed
three to four times faster than
regular reading.
Scanning Scanning is quickly reading a
text to get the summary of it. It
is a technique
wherein students search for
keywords or ideas. Scanning
involves moving eyes
quickly down the page seeking
specific words and phrases.
Scanning is also used
for the reader to find answers to
questions.
Extensive Reading Extensive reading is an approach
to language learning, including
foreign language
learning, by means of a large
amount of reading.
One of the approaches used by
teachers to teach English is the
reading approach. This method
is one method for addressing
students' reading difficulties.
The primary concept of a text is
rapidly detected during
skimming. The idea is to read
shorter texts in order to get
correct details. Skimming is
done at three to four times the
speed of conventional reading.
