Atmospheric perspective -What Is Atmospheric Perspective? Atmospheric perspective


refers to the effect the atmosphere has on the appearance of objects when you look at them
from a distance. to depict atmospheric perspective painters would use gradients

chroma - Chroma is also known as saturation or intensity. It describes how brilliant or subdued
the color looks. For example, within the hue of yellow, a lemon has more chroma than a banana.
Value refers to a color's lightness or darkness as compared to white or black.

Albrecht Durer was known for using hatching lines which can be interpreted as a shadow he
showcases that he doesnt need colors to express value
henry matisse he used an arbitrary color arrangement often primitive which he adapted from
culture he visited lands with "weird" primitive art which he adapted and in turn pioneered the
art movement of primitavism to paint his conceptual environments he often redid his
paintings which gave him the title of the bad boy of modern art

texture has a complex vocabulary and cannot be simply defined as smooth or roof
texture is defined as the material 's appearance that is depicted
just like how waffle derived its name from its texture and not its cultural background textural
vocabulary is dependent on the material.

in the images the hands are painted with a gradient. each different colored gradient depicts an
emotion the blue one probably eludes sadness or tranquility
the orange or yellow gradient depicts the hand as if it was victorious or uplifted the black
gradient depicts a dark tone almost that of death
each of these paintings holds a psychological expression which is expressed through the
different colored gradients.
