Introduction

Strategic management is the process of setting goals, procedures, and objectives in order

to make a company or organization more competitive. Typically, strategic management looks at

effectively deploying staff and resources to achieve these goals. Often, strategic management

includes strategy evaluation, internal organization analysis, and strategy execution throughout

the company. Will Kenton (2022)

In this document you will find the answer to a hypothetical case of a problem faced by

companies around the world in relation to vaccination against COVID-19.

Specific objective

 Understand the relevance of strategic management in the leadership of companies, recognizing

experiences in real organizational contexts.

General Objectives

Considering the leadership lessons explained in the article, read the “Annex 1 –

Vaccination Workplace Requirement” and complete with your own words the following: a)

If I were the leader of a customer service company and one of the employees, a cashier,

decided not to get vaccinated, I would deal with the situation as follows: (write a paragraph

of 100 words)

First, let our employee know that he is important to the organization and that his work

contributes to the company's growth. Second, show tolerance for his decision not to be

vaccinated but let him know that his decision not only puts his life at risk but also that of the

people around him.

Fourth, if my employee insists on not getting vaccinated, I would respect his decision but

I would offer him a new position according to his profile, which is not related to customer

service and where he follows strict biosecurity protocols.

The decision of the case cannot disregard the human rights enshrined in the

Colombian Political Constitution. Read Chapters 1, 2 and 3 from the Constitution and

Conclusion

With this work we can conclude that a company that does not have strategic direction is

doomed to failure, which is why it is necessary for new professionals to develop leadership

skills, as well as the ability to give prompt and efficient response to the different problems that

arise in organizations and that many of them are new situations that must be faced.

That is why the development of a strategy allows to achieve better results and a

competitive advantage for the organization.
