Carrier
Materials:
Size D crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in body color, spike
color, lip color, and eye colors
Yarn needle
12 mm Safety eyes (optional)

Gauge:
4 sc and 4 rows = 1” or whatever size hook
needed

Abbreviations:
ch - chain
st(s) - stitch(es)
tn - turn
sl st - slip stitch
sc - single crochet
Directions:
hdc - half double crochet
Body:
dc - double crochet
- ch 40, tn
[FL] - front loop
Row 1 - sc in back ridge of 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 38 (back ridge) sts, ch 1,
[BL] - back loop tn - 39 sc
F.O. - fasten off Row 2 - ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), hdc each st across, tn - 39 hdc
Row 3 - ch 3 (counts as 1st dc), dc each st across, tn - 39 dc
Row 4 - ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), hdc each st across, tn - 39 hdc
Special Stitches: Row 5 - sc each st across, tn - 39 sc
Row 6 - sc each st across, tn - 39 sc
Repeat rows 2-5

Joining in with a sc: insert slip Row 11 - sc each st across, tn - 39 sc

Joining & Spikes:
Crocheting in the back ridge of

Row 3 - working over sl sts of last row and in sc of 1st row, sl st 1st st, [(hdc, dc,
ch 3, sl st) next st, sl st next 2 sts], repeat [ ] 5 times, (hdc, dc, ch 3, sl st) next st, sl
st the 2nd sc from the last row, (hdc, dc, ch 3, sl st) in ch 1 space, sl st 1st sc from
the last row, [(hdc, dc, ch 3, sl st) next st, sl st next 2 sts], repeat [ ] 6 times, sl st
last st, F.O. - 14 spikes

Lips:
Round 1 - Join in with a sc [FL] of the starting ch st, sc [FL] next 38 sts - 39 sc
Rounds 2-5 - sc each st around - 39 sc
Round 6 - Fold lips inward to [BL] of starting ch, sc each st and [BL] together
around, sl st 1st st, F.O. - 39 sc

Eyes:
With black yarn - ch 4, sl st 1st ch to form a loop
Row 1 - 8 sc into loop, sl st 1st st, F.O. - 8 sc
With eye color yarn - Join in with a sc on last sc worked, sc in same st, 2 sc in
each st around, sl st 1st st, F.O. - 16 sc
With white yarn - Join in with a sc on last sc worked, sc each st around, F.O. - 16
sc
Weave in your loose ends.
Sew your eyeballs into place. You can add safety eyes if you want to before sewing
them on. It's optional.

Mouth Closure:
Take 6 - 12" strands of yarn, make a knot that won't be able to pass through your
sc sts, and braid them into one strand
Using your crochet hook, pull the strand though the space made my the mouth
Your Notes: where you folded it over starting at the bottom of your monsters mouth and all the
way around, knot the other end so it is unable to pass through the sc sts like in the
beginning of the braided strand
