SITUATION TASKS

Situation 4: Being the facilitator and second parent of the learners, how will you guide them in
their decision and choices in life?

Strategy and Procedure:

Given that the Senior High School level has four (4) curriculum exits namely higher education, middle
level skills development, entrepreneurship, and employment, it is best to integrate these curriculum exits
into lessons that will pave way to in-depth discussions. Considering, the Grade 11 HUMSS has both of
their specialized subjects, Discipline and Ideas in the Social Sciences (DISS) and Discipline and Ideas in
Applied Social Sciences (DIASS), which tackles the professions they might want to pursue in the future.
Through this, they get to go through the unlimited opportunities available for them.

In an activity, the learner is presented with a game in a video format where they identify the profession
shown to them, enabling them to know the job description and responsibilities of the person who has that
kind of profession.

In another activity, the learner is asked to choose a curriculum exit and their top 3 chosen professions.
They will justify why they chose that particular curriculum exit. Then, they will accomplish the table below.

Success Indicator:
1. Learners’ career plan and goals are displayed and/or charted.
2. Learners interact with fellow learners and discuss the career plans collaboratively.
3. Both the teacher and the learners set goals for career paths that are attainable and with high
expectations.
4. Teacher is the “guide on the side” rather than the “sage on the stage”.
