(SPUN PILES) - CLASS A, CLASS B AND CLASS C

The attached amendment on MS 1314-4: 2004 has been approved by Technical Committee on
Concrete and concrete products.

(1) Table 1 Classification of spun piles, page 2

1.1) Existing Note will be numbered as Note 1.

1.2) Add Note 2 below the table and should read as follow:

Other pile driving methods may be used subject to agreement between purchaser and supplier.

1.3) Add Note 3 below the table and should read as follow:

Concrete strengths higher than 60 N/mm2 may be used subject to agreement between
purchaser and supplier.

(2) Table 2. Standard sizes and lengths of spun piles, page 3

2.1 Add new class of piles of Class C for diameter 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm in Table 2.

The new addition requirements are as follows:

2.2) Add Note 1 below the Table 2 and should read as follow:

Pile lengths exceeding 18m are subject to agreement between purchaser and supplier.

Replace the existing permissible tolerances in pile cross sectional dimensions of wall thickness
of hollow section with the following:

(4) Table 3. Cracking bending moment (Mc) and factor 'f ' for prestress levels of 4.0,
5.0 and 7.0 N/mm² for spun piles, page 9.

Add new class of piles of Class C for diameter 250 mm, 300 mm and 350 mm in Table 3.
