The following is the Provisional Merit List of the students who applied for pursuing the
MA in Sociology of Dibrugarh University for the academic session 2022-2023 based on the
marks obtained in the DUPGET-2022. Candidates are directed to bring all necessary documents
in original (along with a set of photocopy), which will be verified by the Departmental
Admission Committee at the time of admission.

 The provisionally selected candidates shall have to be physically present in the

Department of Sociology, Dibrugarh University, on 24th August 2022, as per the
scheduled time for counseling/verification of their documents.
 The merit of the students who have secured the same score in DUPGET 2022 shall be
determined on the basis of marks secured in the B.A. or Class 12th /10th Examinations.
 The candidates provisionally selected for admission (under any category) shall have to
bring the following documents on the date of admission:

i. Print copy of the Online Application Form submitted by the applicant along with
photocopies of all relevant testimonials.
ii. DUPGET 2022 Score Card
iii. Domicile Certificate/Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC) of Assam.
iv. Undertaking of ‘Provisional Admission’ (Format of Undertaking is available in
the DU website)
v. Gap Certificate wherever applicable (in the form of Affidavit)
vi. All documents in original for producing before the Admission Committee.
a. HSLC Admit Card
b. Mark-sheets of Examinations passed (HSLC onwards )
c. Pass certificates of Examinations passed (HSLC onwards)
d. Degree Registration Card .
viii. Caste Certificate (if selected under any of the statutory reserved categories)
ix. EWS certificate issued by the competent authority

 The Admission Fee, Course Fee, etc. (wherever applicable) to be paid by the candidates
at the time of admission through online mode
 The Selection and Admission of the Programme covered by this Notification shall be
purely provisional and subject to fulfillment of requisite norms of Qualifying
examination and other relevant criteria.
 .
 Anti-Ragging Declaration: Admitted students are directed to submit the ANTI
RAGGING undertakings as instructed in the website on or before 05.09.2022,
failing which their seats may be forfeited
 Bachelors Degree with Major/ Honours in the concerned subject securing at least
45% marks or equivalent grade point. Or Bachelors Degree with at least 50% marks
in the subject applied for admission and 45% marks in aggregate in case of the
candidates of General Programme or equivalent grade point. Candidates passed the
qualifying examination in CBCS must have studied minimum 24 Credits in the
subject applied for admission.

b) How to apply : Application to the Head, Department of Sociology , DU, (latest

by 24.08.2022)

c) Selection Criteria : Purely on Merit basis (based on DUPGET 2022 score)

d) Endowment Fees : Rs. 25000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand only) as
endowment fee in addition to the admission fee
e) Date of Admission : 26/08/2022

Anti-Ragging Declaration: Admitted students are directed to submit the ANTI-RAGGING
