The document outlines procedures for conducting a geothermal study to trace the movement of spent geothermal fluid injected into a reinjection well to nearby producing wells. The study involves injecting radioactive tracers, collecting water samples from producing wells over a month to measure radioactivity levels, and analyzing the data to determine how much and how long it takes for the reinjected fluid to reach each producing well. Responsibilities for conducting each step of the study are assigned to team leaders, researchers, technicians and a project leader.

Work Instructions:
• Open vial entry valve.
• Drop 2 non- active vials one after the other into the vial entry valve. • Close and open the crusher valve thrice. • Dismantle the crusher of the injection system to check if the vials are broken. • Attach the crusher to the injection system. • Close drain, crusher, throttle and vial entry valves. • Close valve A and partially open the wing valve. • Open crusher and vial entry valves. • Pour KI into the injection system. • Drop the 2 vials into the vial entry valve. • Close the vial entry valve. • Open the throttle valve, then the drain valve. • Crush the vials. • Monitor the injection system. • Collect water samples from producing wells under study at regular intervals for a month. • Measure the radioactivity level of each sample. • Analyze the data using the computer. • Dismantle the injection system after 8 half lives.
