Proposal

The compound has an ample area for more improvements. Its open ground could
be also used for additional sitting space if seating capacity within the chapel reached
the maximum during special occasion in certain times of year, but the lack of sun
shading material could affect the time the area can be used. The atrium that the chapel
and monastery building shares can still be transformed into more inviting public space
with covered seating areas and small greeneries rather than just a concrete area.

At the time of the researchers’ visit, it is considerably dim inside the Chapel
as windows installed at regular height could not penetrate great amount of light as
natural light is being limited by the hallway on either side of the chapel (North and
South). As the lower window is used for great air circulation. Clerestory windows must
be replaced with sets that can penetrate much of the natural light in. It must be free of
obstruction. The mural on the east façade of the building can be translated into Stained
Glass window, allowing more light in from the east.

Surveillance Cameras and other Monitoring Devices

There were very minimum surveillance camera/devices within the

compound, two of which are located inside the chapel. Install more for outside security
since the monastery compound is larger including its parking space. Enough
surveillance cameras/devices will improve the security and monitoring of the visitors and
members living in the compound. Attendance checker/counter can also help monitor the
visitors of the monastery.
Smart Lighting Controls

For active lighting, smart lighting control can highlight areas within the Chapel,
producing presence and anticipation. LED lighting technology that meets the criteria of
energy efficiency that can deliver excellent light quality.
