| appreciate you affording me the time to share how the School District of Palm Beach County prioritizes the safety of our
students, employees, and community. This work is never finished as we strive to continuously enhance safety measures and,
further harden our campuses.
Our team worked expeditiously this summer to implement the Centegix hard-panic alarm system across all of our 180 schoo!
sites. Additional professional development was also conducted over the summer. This included active assailant drills and
training for School Police, as well as FBI threat assessment training for a large contingent of both district and school-based
personnel
Privacy screening is being added to existing chain link fences that surround playgrounds. Sixty new vehicles were recently
purchased for our School Police Department. We have also negotiated salary increases to assist with the recruitment and
retention of officers. Thanks to the voters of Palm Beach County, revenues from both a capital sales surtax and ad valorem.
property tax levy help fund an array of security projects. Our Ten-Year Capital Plan includes the addition of guardhouses at
all high schools, and additional fencing, cameras, card access lock, Intercoms, intrusion alarms and main office sally ports
If you need any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly, Thank you for
your ongoing commitment to keep Florida's Public Schools safe.
Sincerely,
MG SL.
