The school is located in a hilly and mountainous area of Cahumayan, Danao

City, Cebu. It is approximately 16 kilometers away from the Poblacion, Danao City, with
the total land area of 20,000 sq.m.
The school first opened on June 1993 as an extension school of Lawaan
National High School and as a part of Ramon M. Durano Sr. Memorial National High
School. With the help of Ramon “Nito” D. Durano, the lot where the school is situated
was donated to the Department of Education Culture and Sports through the City
Government.
Last August 2019, Cahumayan Senior High School was approved by DepEd
Central Office as a stand-alone Senior High School.
At present it has 9 teaching staff, and 1 School Head. The school has 15
classrooms. There are 2 non-instructional rooms which were used as principal’s office
with the guidance office and school clinic, and one room used as school’s function
room. For the school year 2021-2022, the school population has a total of 215. Wherein
126 of the total enrollees are grade 11 students and the remaining 89 students are
officially enrolled as grade 12.
