Steps in Shampooing and Conditioning the hair

Step 1:
After you get your client into the bowl you wanna make sure that the temperature
is comfortable for them. You can test the water temperature with your hands first
before applying to their head. Ask your client if, the temperature for them.

Step 2:
The shampoo. Get your hand a shampoo and emulsify in your hands first before
applying it to their head. Evenly apply the shampoo on the tops, sides, and then
underneath. You are giving a shampoo massage you really wanna be firm with your
hands and not to rough with their head but just firm in your hands. All ten of your
fingers are doing little circles on their head. This feel really good for the client.
While shampooing colored hair, check the color you just gonna smoosh the shampoo
out of the way and see that your color is looking beautiful.
When you gonna rinse you want to rinse all the shampoo in your hands first. This
method will keep the shampoo to fly into the clients face.

Step 3:
Rinsing. Keep the nuzzle directed down and towards you, you wanna make sure
you don’t get any water in the client’s ears. Now if going underneath, go underneath
the head and scoop the water out so that it prevents from running down at the back of
her neck. Once you see that you’ve rinse all the shampoo from your client’s hair, you
wanna go in with some conditioner.

Step 4:
Conditioning. Once again gently emulsify it on your palms first and start at the
ends of the hair and then work your way your way up, running your fingers through if
it’s possible. Some clients have really tangle hair, that’s why running the conditioner
through your fingers feels really nice. Take your time during the conditioning process
and do not rush. Give your client a nice massage. Picture your fingers circling again.
Lift the client’s head a little bit and massage underneath, this feels so good for them.

Step 5:
Final Rinse and Towel Dry. Just give a little extra minute to really wash off the
shampoo. Then once you feel you have really washed them completely, you are going
to ring out their hair really well. Gather their hair and grab the towel while their head
is on the bowl and lightly pat and let dry. (blow dry is optional)
