According to the detailed description of the non-compliance activities in subject report, series rectification measures have been taken immediately by the Contractor, and reported as below: Sen Description Measures been Taken The Contractor has provided with an electronic device with a proper head for the sulfur melting activity that does not release sulfur gas into the air. ‘We observed the Contractor heating the solid sulfur to molten sulfur for capping the cubic cylinder in the batch plant vicinity. Molten sulfur can cause thermal burns and may evolve Hydrogen Sulfides which may accumulate in storage container, |! 1 | Sulfur fires burn, very hot and can readily damage the mechanical integrity of plant equipment. High concentration may cause immediate unconsciousness - death may result unless victim is promptly and successfully resuscitated. Hydrogen sulfide causes eye irritation. During the process of sulfur melting, it release sulfur with the presence of oxygen, it makes sulfur dioxide which have negative impact on environment and the worker also effect due to inhaling the mentioned gas. During the activity the unpleasant smell is all around the plant and make the work environment more uncomfortable. The Contractor has provided a separate container for the de-sulfurization activity from which cannot release gas to the environment. The contractor has provided proper PPE to the workers for the sulfur melting activity. The use of waste or wood to fire for the melting which also release smoke. This practice is the violation of Sub-Clause 4.44 of the Specification Volume ~ 2 (Part 2A) of the Contract and Environment management plan E4 section14.1.
