WHAT MORE COULD WOUND A BROKEN PUPPET?

[red]

Loud gunfire eats thy fellow ears,

with all but blood to spill,
on the outskirts lay our heroes,
is freedom ever free?

[yellow, blue, green, orange]

Just as I expected, hope is as short lived as day and night.

As crimson seeped through the moss,
the soil began to blossom in the pit of the horizon
where dreams are engulfed, 'til all that’s left is hopelessness.

[black, white, purple]

Fellowmen have yet to live another day

where pawns are but blinded with fake light,
a silver plate served, with ruse and abuse as a main course,
are you feeling a little dawn?

[brown, violet]

Tragedy lies in thy spilt ink,

written as a memoir in an old photograph.
I ask my people to close this open wound it inflicted
that the wind blew some of the chapters apart.
Shall a brave heart cure these everlasting lacerations
of our mistaken past.
