My Reason

One of the many reasons I want to become a teacher is based on my personal educational

experiences. All schools and teachers are very different around the world which has a significant

impact on how a students learning experience is affected but from my personal educational

experiences, I can definitely say my previous teachers aced it. I attended school up to the sixth

grade in Iowa, and I finished the rest of grade school here in Las Vegas, Nevada, which showed

me the difference in districts and the ways teachers can impact a childs learning. Overall, they

are the reason why I have a positive attitude towards teaching.

I believe teachers have a very important responsibility to provide their students with the

most intriguing classroom experience all while making sure that the students are completely

understanding the lessons. I have noticed that this can get difficult at times for teachers, we must

remember they are also human and can't always be perfect, therefore teachers can get

overwhelmed but they do their best not to express their frustration in front of their students

which is something I appreciate and admire from them. As I mentioned before, I have had really

great teachers throughout the years and I will never forget them, there are two specific teachers

that I will forever cherish and those teachers were my first grade and High School Honors

History teachers. They showed me how great learning can be and that it is ok if you do not

understand certain topics. All it takes is a little more studying along with practice to make

anything possible.

Every day I always tell myself if I were a teacher at this very moment, what would I have

to offer to my students? Out of all the things I can offer my students I think my main ones would

have to be the ability to allow them to express themselves freely without judgment, teaching with
creativity, and adapting to their learning styles. I would love for them to be able to express

themselves freely not just in my classroom but outside of it as well. Letting them know that no

matter their answer or opinion to something, it will always be valid and that we all have opinions

and not everyone will agree with it but that is totally normal. As for creativity, I would teach

them to think outside of the box and get out of their comfort zone, teaching them that they have a

lot to offer. Understanding my students preferences for learning is my main goal, knowing how

each student prefers to be taught helps me demonstrate the assignments in various ways to help

them better understand as well as include each and one of them in the lectures.
