ACTIVITY SHEET

(Week 6)

By making your own comic book/ superhero character, you will be


able to see the harmony of using the elements and principles of art and
at the same time be able to apply to the superhero the imaginary self
you want to become.

Activity 6:
Materials: laptop, desktop, Inkscape application, paint application on
your laptop/desktop

Read and understand the direction.


1. Think of a design that would best fit for your character.
2. Choose the shape that would be of use to your character.
3. Start drafting your cartoon.
4. Use the palate on the paint application to add color to your
cartoon.
5. Print.

1. Activity 6: Scan and Edit Superhero Costume


Scan and edit the superheroes to be able to give them your
desired costumes.
1. Alternative Activity no. 6: Template Based Superhero Making

Materials: A photocopy of a template of a Female and Male body,


pencil, pen and coloring media.

a. Select a gender template you like and turn it into your own
superhero.
b. Apply the draw, ink, and paint technique.
c. Create a background (optional).
d. Give a name to your superhero and explain his/her powers.

Materials: pencil, graphing paper, crayons, water color

Read carefully the directions.


a. Think of a design that would best fit for your comic book
character.
b. Sketch your comic book character design.
c. Use color pencils or water color for your comic book
character.
d. Combine colors to show harmony.

3. Alternative Activity no. 6:


Materials: colored papers, scissors, pictures of clothes from
magazines or comics.
a. Have a cut-out or template of your superhero/comic book
character.
b. Cut colored papers according to your desired design.
c. Create a costume for your own superhero/comic book
character.
d. What could be the special powers behind their costume.
The creation of a superhero has many styles and
techniques from the manga style, American-style comics, or
an amalgam of both. It is assumed that the art teacher has
enough skill to show the pupils how to draw the basic
animated human form. There are also readily available web
books and PDFs on how to draw comics which will help the
teacher learn how to draw at least one art style.
