When i was seventeen, my mom asks me about college and say that if I wanted to study
something different from TecMilenio, she and my dad would support me. My first option
was marketing but then I create a lot of good stories in my mind where I was a doctor, I
applied for medicine test in May of 2019, in august of the same year I receive the mail
where everything changes (dramatic). I was so sure about medical school that I didn’t
have other options, my family and I were desperate to find something, until the college
announce about an aspirants’ group or “a” group. I did my process, we bought the books,
the uniforms, etc. I took classes in afternoon shift with more than 400 people. In school no
one give us an itinerary, so we met our teachers while they’re where coming, the first
class was English but with medical information, I liked that class, I notice that a lot of my
classmates didn’t know English at all so sometimes I help a few of them with the activities,
after that class we had histology, anatomy, biochemistry, ethics, information basics, and
something about skills in teams, I never liked that last one.
To upgrade to regular group, you must pass the seven matters, if you fail in at least one,
someone else take your place with better grades or in the greatest cases you do a fourth
test, but it also depends of the matter, its not available in the 7, only in three If I
remember. The exams were in weekends at 7am in UAS Library, a lot of us came one or
two hours earlier to reach a spot and not wait until everyone finish, they give us a
registration card so record our assistance, then they separate us in different rooms, so you
finally do a line for the test. During the tests there’s teachers watching that you are not
copying, sometimes you can ask for questions, depending on the teacher or if the
manager give them permission. Once I had a question in English and one of the teachers
ignore me, that happens a lot. The stress just keeps increasing with the pass of the weeks,
part of my classmates leave school, others just didn’t care but they did not have anything
else to do, we were tired and done with school, but we still had a lot to do yet. December
came with the final’s tests, some pass with 6, 7, the best pass with 8. I even went with a
student of last year for biochemistry lessons, he´s a doctor now and looks happy, I met her
mom, warm and pretty woman, she loves Christmas decorations, so we can imagine how
happy she is on winter, once she made me chorizo a la Mexicana, very tasty. After the
finals, by January the results were ready, like 150 or 200 I don’t remember, passed to
regular. I remember when I didn’t see my number in the list, I felt down, disappointed,
etc. I receive a call from a friend back then asking me about my number (he pass), and I
wanted to cry (I did later) but I thought about all the things that I could do while I wait for
the next year in medical school. I got a great great job in a coffee shop where they pay you
extra hours with pizza or enji sushi. Spoiler alert about that year, I became a mom:D (I’m
not studying in medical school).
I don’t have more
pictures of the aspirants
group cause my phone
die.

De el sí tengo muchas
