Upgrading of Jagna, Bohol Calamay Packaging using Indigenous Materials

II-INTRODUCTION

Calamay is a famous delicacy in Bohol originating from Jagna, Boho. It is

made of glutinous rice and brown sugar. Originally, it is stored in coconut
shells but today due to shortage of coconut shells brought by typhoon
Odette last year, plastic containers have been used to address its shortage.

III-THE PROJECT ITSELF

This proposed project aims to upgrade the product design of calamay using
coco shells and and bamboo as substitute. It is expected that the original
packaging will be upgraded using labels depicting Bohol's famous tourist
spots. This is to promote Bohol Tourism and to level up its promotion
across the country
