Models Characteristics
We are people of God that are United in
Community the Spirit; Diverse in Charism. This is
also stressed on the importance of the
‘local churches’ and presently refers to
the experience of community in a
‘parish’.
The Church is an organization with
Institution certain structures, standards, teachings,
and authority.
This is a sign that this doesn’t not only
Sacrament point to a sacred reality but also makes
it present.
Herald is referred as ‘messenger’ where
Herald in it means a proclaimer of the good
news or the word of our God.
As different from the herald models,
Servant proclaiming our faith is more the God’s
word: this is like ‘following the example
of Jesus’ and in reaching out to those
who are in need.
Christian Living
Strengths
We have the fellowship (koinonia) and
service (diakonia). Fellowship is friendship
and social relations meanwhile, service is
compassionate and the love for the poor
and in need.
This is built on authority of the office by the
pope and bishops that is called ‘Hierarchy’
and has the Church’s teachings authority
expressed in: doctrines,dogmas, and canon
law also known as the ‘Magisterium’.
The model helps us develop a ‘sense of
spiritually’ that is rooted and centered on
the celebration of the sacraments.
The heart of the matter is not as much
about the church itself but about the word
of God proclaimed for ALL of us to hear.
Our Salvation is not only ‘spiritual’ but it is
also the ‘liberation of the whole person’.

Limitations
People even today found this ‘parish’
as too large for the experience of
community and thus the introduction of
the Basic Ecclesial Communities (bec)
The Church is seen just like a
company or corporation.
The Church is a sacrament that brings
the present Christ in the world.
Emphasized on the evangelical
element of the Church also known as
Evangelism.
The Church’s focus is to work for
peace, love, and justice in the world.
