▪Design a research used in daily
life : Nonexperimental Design
▪ Define Nonexperimental design
▪ Determine the key concept in starting a
nonexperimental design
▪ Differentiate Survey, Correlational, Ex-post Facto
▪ What are the 3 types of experimental
design?
▪ What are the three key factors in
starting an experimental design
research ?
▪ Supposed that you belong to the family
feud production team: List down 10 things
you would like to survey among 100
people
▪ Supposed that you are a contestant in
family feud
▪Lets play the Family Feud !
▪ as a production team how do they
collect data?
▪ what do you observe regarding
the answer for family feud?
▪ A research design used when the researcher
intends to provide a quantitative or numeric
description of trends, attitudes or opinions of a
population by studying a sample of that
population (creswell, 2003). For example ,
universities regularly float surveys to
determine customer satisfaction, that is , the
students attitude toward or opinions regarding
students like the canteen , clinic , security . the
guidance counseling service , and the like.
▪ Problem: The school canteen is planning about
improving its customer service for the upcoming
school year.
▪ Proposed solution: The group of senior high school
students conducted a survey about customer service
which will help the canteen to improve its customer
service.
▪ Obtain scores from two variables for each
subject, then use them to calculate a
correlation coefficient. The term bivariate
implies that two variables are correlated
(variables are selected because they are
believed to be related)
▪ Problem: The school A, has a problem because most of
their students are not from the local area of their
municipal. The school administrator wants to have a
basis for implementing student localization policy.
▪ Proposed solution: The group of senior high school
students conducted a correlational study about the
distance of school A from home of their students and
the students general grade average. They want to find
out the correlation of distance from home to school and
student general grade average.
▪ It is used to investigate causal relationship. They
examine whether one or more pre-existing
condition could possibly have caused subsequent
differences in groups or subjects. Researchers
attempt to discover whether differences between
groups have result in an observed difference I the
independent variables.
▪ Problem: Absenteeism is a problem in section C,
particularly during Fridays.
▪Proposed solution: The group of senior high school
students, conducted a questionnaire which
facilitated according to their social economic
status. The goal of their study is to understand
whether their economic status is one of the reasons
for their absenteeism behavior.
