Statistics to Report

• Pearson’s r
• Correlation when there is one predictor variable (x)
• i.e., the correlation between x and y

• R2
• Indicates the amount of variability in y that can be attributed to x
• e.g., “72.4% of the variability in exam grades is accounted for by the number of hours
studied”

• F to test significance of r2
• If F is significant (p < .05), then a significant percentage of the variance in y is
accounted for by x
