Annotated bibliography Outline

Section One: Introduction (400 words)


Paragraph 1: Introduce the SDG goal you chose with background information + in-text-
citation. Each new concept/term has to be carefully explained using a clear and precise definition.
Paragraph 2: Introduce the narrowed down SDG target you chose with background
information + in-text-citation. Each new concept/term has to be carefully explained using a clear
and precise definition.

Paragraph 3: Clearly justify the purpose and importance of your study. Why did you
choose this SDG & this narrowed down SDG target?
Section Two: Annotation (400 words/ 4 Sources)
For each of the four academic sources you read you will write an annotation:
Part 1: Citation of article/ report/ book. Citation should be done in APA style format.
Part 2: Annotation (One Paragraph).
Each annotation should be 70-100 words (excluding the citation)

a. Summary: (3-4 sentences)


Write a brief summary highlighting the key points/ideas/ argument of the
source.
b. Evaluation: (2-3 sentences)
Evaluate the source. This part answer questions like:

Is this text up-to-date? If not, why am I including it? Does this text fit closely to
my research topic? Is this article from a peer-reviewed journal? Is the material
suitable for academic research? Does the author take a strong point of view
or are their views more balanced? How will this impact my own
thinking? Is this source designed for new researchers or does it require
specialized knowledge? How does this article relate to others in my annotated
bibliography?

c. Reflection: (2-3 sentences)


Comment on the usefulness of the source to your topic. What additional
information was acquired from that article?

Section Three: References


Throughout this work, all claims must be referenced correctly and a full
bibliography must be included at the end. (APA Style)
