Preparation of the Messenger Preparation of the Muslim
Attitudes and Christ’s Presence in our lives are what attract Muslims to our message.
JESUS – Our Example for Muslim Ministry
We must be intentional in serving our Muslim brothers.
SEVEN STAGES OF SERVANTOOD
Openness – welcoming others into your world Acceptance – communicating respect Trust – building confidence in relationships Learning – seeking information that changes you (Culture & Bible) Understanding - seeing through the other’s eyes Serving – becoming like Christ to others JESUS EXAMPLE A. Role of a Servant (2 Cor. 5:14, 1 Cor. 10:32-11:1) - Does his duty for the Master. His attitude is to do what pleases the Master. Incarnational Ministry (Phi. 2:6-8) - The Word becomes – humility, change, willingness - Suffering – self-denial and death (John 12:24 – to die to self)
Submission is the ability to lay down the terrible burden of always needing to get our own way.
B. Role of a Priesthood (Heb 2:14-28, Heb. 5:13)
- A priest comes before God in behalf of the people - We become priest or representatives of Christ to the people
Moses was willing to die for the people. So was Paul.
We stand between God and our Muslim friends to help them come to salvation in Christ Jesus. - 2 Cor. 6:4-10, 2 Cor. 11:24-27
Preparation of the Messenger
Pure enough to be respected Fast and pray enough to bind the strong man Have enough faith for signs and wonders Love enough to build relationships Get ready for persecution
Muslim ministry is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit.
Practical Items to Remember Be careful about the attitudes you express towards Islam and Muhammad We should respect the Muslims belief in God and Practice (Acts 10:1-48) Separate politics and opinions from the ministry
Seven Keys to Reaching Unreached Muslim People
Love of God for the people Creativity in methods No fear of failure/persecution Spirit0filled messenger Biblical message proclaimed Unified team effort Total dependence on the Holy Spirit Topic: The Challenge of Islam Feedback: The training lecture happened last Sunday is amazing and heart-warming. I can feel the passion and love of Ate Lorie to what she is teaching and also for the Muslim ministry. Moreover, I was moved and was opened by the said topic because right now, God has placed me in a community wherein I also have to deal with some Muslims. I have learned that I have to develop an attitude that would bless the life of the Muslims, because as what our speaker said, that “Attitudes and Christ’s Presence in our lives are what attract Muslims to our message.” And that I should look on them with love, compassion and grace, and most importantly make them feel that they belong, they are accepted, they are loved and they are important, no matter who they are or what Muslim tribe they belong. Above all, I have learned that I have to be totally independent on the Holy Spirit in doing this ministry, because this is not just cultivating relationship with the Muslims, this is also a spiritual warfare that must be fought in prayer and in fasting.
