Ayakashi is an archaic term for yokai.

Kami are Shinto deities or spirits. The word can be used for a
range of creatures, from nature spirits to strong and dangerous
gods.

ICitsunebi literally means “fox fire” and are the flames controlled
by fox spirits.

Onibi-wavashi are like will-o’-the-wisps.

Shinshi are birds, beasts, insects or fish that have a special

relationship with a kami.

Shirohebi means “white snake” and is a type of yokai.

Tengu are a type of yokai. They are sometimes associated with

excess pride.

Hononfics
-chan is a diminutive most often used with babies, children or
teenage girls.

-dono roughly means “my lord,” although not in the aristocratic

sense.

-himemiko is a title that means “Imperial princess.”

-kun is used by persons of superior rank to their juniors. It can

sometimes have a familiar connotation.

-sama is used with people of much higher rank.

-san is a standard honorific similar to Mr., Mrs., Miss or Ms.
