In The Internet

O ne sunny afternoon, Alice and her sister, Mary, were sitting

in the garden. Mary was messaging her friend, Anne,
through Facebook on her phone. Alice was watching
YouTube on her laptop. Alice was getting bored of watching, so she
put her laptop down and went to stretch herself. When Alice
returned from her walk, she stood a few feet away from her laptop.
Suddenly, Alice felt her body shrinking and speeding towards the
screen of her laptop. “AHHHHHHHHHH!” she shrieked.
The screen completely swallowed Alice up. What she saw was
incomprehensible. She gasped in awe and surprise. “Wow! Where
am I?” Alice asked. She could see many famous websites all around
her; Google, Facebook and YouTube. There was only one
explanation; Alice was in the Internet. “It can’t be! I’m in the
Internet!” she said. It was beyond impossible.

A Hideous Plan

n front of Alice, she saw an old man under the Google banner.
The next thing she knew Alice was in front of the old man asking
him, who Google was, “I am Google, the heart of the Internet” he
said. “Well, Google, can you tell me where to find this Facebook
account; Mary2514?” Alice asked, making up a hideous plan to
terrorize Mary. “She is messaging Anne1357” said Google, having
no idea about the plan.
As Alice dashed towards Facebook, she stopped by a huge crowd of
people heading towards YouTube. Alice flowed with the huge
current of people. Then she found herself inside YouTube. A few
seconds later, Alice realized that she had been watching YouTube
before she entered the Internet. She saw a lazy person in front of
her. Alice knew exactly who it was… herself! As she stared in
surprise, Alice felt a strong push. She was forced to the ground.
Alice slowly crawled avoiding everyone near her. After a few
minutes, she bumped into my legs and a boy called Jack picked her
up. Alice asked Jack if he could take her to Facebook. Jack grinned Commented [SO1]: Should this be Alice?

and said, “Sure”. He dropped Alice at Facebook and went back to Commented [SO2]: Again here, take out the ‘I’.

Alice rushed to Facebook. It was a big room full of people. There
was a name tag above each person. It took her a few minutes to find
Mary’s account. Alice walked between the big crowds of people.
She could see Mary messaging Anne in oval callouts. Alice grinned,
and got to work. Alice pushed Anne away. Meanwhile, in the
‘normal’ world, Anne was losing connection with Mary, whilst Mary

was roaring in anger. “Payback time” Alice said, not letting anyone
hear her. She remembered the time when Mary pranked her by
soaking Alice with a bucket filled with freezing water in the
swimming pool. Alice was planning to torture her sister, but how?
She left Facebook looking for something useful. Alice walked for so
long not realizing that she had arrived at a dark alley. Then,
something caught her eye. It was a faint light. Alice followed the
faint light, which led her into a small dimly-lit room. She saw a
blue-glowing snake hissing at the edge of the room. Alice touched
the snake. It glowed bright red, hissed loudly and bit Alice on the
forearm with one incredibly sharp fang. Moments later, she was
electrified. “Yes!” she said, but it came to her attention that there
was a problem:
How was she going to carry that snake?
Several seconds later, Alice spotted a rusty iron cage. Since she
knew that iron is a conductor, she wouldn’t risk being electrified.
Fortunately, she noticed a piece of fabric a few feet from her. She
placed the piece of fabric on the handle of the cage. She returned to
Facebook with the cage and Alice let the snake out. Almost
immediately, Mary and Anne were both electrified but instead they
disappeared into nothingness. Alice quickly put the snake in the
cage and left.

Just A Dream

lice felt a warm hand brushing against her face. It took her a
few seconds to realize that she was on grass. She kept
flickering her eyes until she finally fully opened them. The
image was blurry at first but it cleared in several seconds and she
saw a familiar face. Alice concentrated strongly. Then she saw who
it was… Mary.
Alice stood up, picked up her laptop and went back home.
Alice had the best dream ever!
