K2 If the hoist has been used before

If the hoist has been used before, a complete inspection, in accor-

dance with the ”Service and Maintenance” chapter, is recommen-
ded – before installation is started.
Particularly important is to check the condition of the safety
device.

Exchanging a rack on a mast section

– Position the rack acc. to sketch.
– Tighten the bolts.
Do NOT apply locking liquid on threads.
Stated measurement must be kept at both ends of the mast
section. Use a straight-edge to achieve same measurement in
the middle of the mast section.

K4 2. Assemble and fasten base frame with proper bolt and square
washers to the foundation frame – without tightening.
Lubricate the bolts before installing them.
Level the hoist mast by using steel washers or shims between
the base frame and the concrete slab.
Note that the frame has to be supported with washers or
shims placed as close to the mounting points 1, 2, 3 and 4 as
possible.
Ensure that the base frame outriggers are supported at
position 5 and 6 after levelling.

3. Check the plumbness of the mast with a plumb line, a 2 meter

(6.5’) water level or other suitable instrument in TWO
directions.
Tighten the bolts to the foundation frame and check plumb-
ness again. Maximum permitted deviation is = 2 mm (.08’’)
of the mast section length.
After the mast is properly set, tighten the bolts.
Bolt tightening torque:
Scando 65 mast section: 300 Nm (220 lbf. x ft.).
Scando 45 mast section: 125 Nm ( 92 lbf. x ft.).
Tighten the bolts and check against reference axis again.

WARNING !
Overturning hazard
Mast tower and base frame must be bolted to a
concrete foundation or a prefabricated steel sheet
with sufficient weight to prevent overturning during
freestanding operation conditions – or during free-
standing until the 1st tie level is reached.
Failure to follow this warning can cause death or
personal injury.
