1.) Identify five (5) sources of exposure to infection of the school children and the possible mode of
transmission for

Each source identified.

Contaminated Soil- Ingestion of contaminated or water.

Contaminated Water- Transmitted by ingestion of contaminated water.

Blood-sucking Insect

- Malaria is transmitted by the bite of an infective female mosquito.

- Leishmaniasis is transmitted by the bite of an infective Phlebotomine sand flies.

- Filaria spreads from person to person by mosquito bites.

- Typonosomes are transmitted by Tsetse fly and reduviid bag bites.

Human Beings- Transmitted through direct person to person contact.

One-self/Autoinfection- Contact with soil that is contaminated with free living larvae.

Wash your hands frequently

- Washing hands can keep them healthy and prevent the spread of respiratory and diarrheal infections.

Avoid sharing personal items

- Children are vulnerable to infections and sharing of personal items increases their chances of being laid
low by infectious germs.

Get good sleep

- This can help to keep their immune systems strong.

Keep your distance

- Physical distancing is staying at least 6 feet away from people. Who are not in their household. That
helps keep them away from any droplets that gets released when someone cough, sneezes, or talks.

Eat well

- A balance diet that’s high in nutrients and low in processed foods and red meat can keep your immune
system at its best.
