Core values form the foundations on which an organization is built. They are the basis of
plans, programs and activities. They are the skeleton of success.

To be upheld, they must be implemented across the entire organization, known by

employees, and referred to throughout the decision-making process. When used correctly, core
values can provide numerous benefits to an organization. Having a set of values ensures we
are all on the same path, working towards a shared end goal.

In the school I am working with, I can say that we anchored all activities and programs
we are having to the DepEd’s core values. Moreover, I believe that we also apply the ten core
values, just that, not all the times. The least core value which I think we have in our school is
Empowerment. It is as if that our school heads just let us do things we want. As for me, I adhere
to policies and advice and orders. For others, they do not because they do not feel encouraged
to do so. It is because maybe we are witnesses that he, himself does not do his job sometimes.
He also often gives comments to our weaknesses, but not to our strengths. On the other hand,
we promote Integrity in school. We act with honesty and does not cover bad things just to make
our school look good.
