IMPACT OF THE COMPANIES IN THE ENVIRONMENT

SOCIETY
It is a reality that the company, whatever its definition, is becoming a key player in the
development and performance within any society, and not only in the economic aspect.
Currently, it has become an organization with a social and not only economic force,
rivaling and even above the government, which is further increased by the distrust of the
latter.
If we look back at history a bit, this is actually not a totally new phenomenon. The
industrial revolutions of the past caused important social changes, changing not only
work models, but also social relations and the role played by the different actors within
society.
An example of the above was the disappearance of the craftsman with the arrival of the
steam engine and the emergence of the worker, thereby creating a new stratum or social
layer, becoming a political actor with an important weight within the way in which it is
managed. any government.
The Sustainable Development Goals rely heavily on what companies in the world do; It
is true that governments also have a lot to do to achieve these objectives, but it is also
true that they alone will not be able to do enough if they do not have the support of
companies.
And it is in this aspect when they already have a sustainable responsibility that includes
both social and ecological. Having the economic part as the means, not the end, to
achieve the full sustainability mentioned in the Sustainable Development Goals.
In other words, companies have a social responsibility to be economically viable in
order to have the means to achieve the Development Goals, to comply with the three
elements that sustain them: economic, ecological and social.

TECHNOLOGY
Technology is the tool for the organization and application of knowledge focused on
achieving practical ends, including physical implements such as machines and
materials, together with intellectual techniques and processes used to solve problems
and obtain positive results.
The use of technology has given way to the elimination of various routine jobs, in
addition to allowing the restructuring of labor fields and changes in the attitude and
behavior of their workers. In organizations, technology is a key factor in the tasks and
responsibilities of its members, as it helps determine the tasks according to the position
held.
Currently, the administrative system is not intended for a single person who contains
knowledge and autonomy; on the contrary, it seeks to integrate a team of specialists
who have the needs to contribute to the good performance of the organization, each one
from their skills, together with computer technologies and relationships, who are
making significant progress at all levels of organization.
For the better, that technologies are not limited to computers or smartphones, at an
operational level, understand automation, numerically controlled machines, industrial
robots and flexible manufacturing systems, are also considered examples of
technologies.
Automation is the current phase of a future trend that employs greater complexity and
modernization of technologies for the production of goods. It contains the linking of
computerized control processes and machinery in an integrated production system.
Numerically (computer) controlled machines possess wide flexibility and adaptability
compared to traditional single-purpose machine tools. Without elaborate reconditioning
these machines can be programmed to perform various operations on different parts.

ENVIRONMENT
All companies, depending on the activity they carry out, have an impact on the
environment, generating, to a greater or lesser extent, an environmental impact.
Nowadays, society demands that companies are involved in caring for the environment
and in response to these demands, companies have seen that the Environmental
Management System can offer them an opportunity to improve the environmental
behavior of the organization.
The implementation of an Environmental Management System allows the company to
identify all the environmental aspects derived from the activity it carries out and that
may have an impact on the environment, and establish different pertinent actions to act
on them and minimize the impact they generate. .
To act on environmental impacts, the company must first identify the environmental
aspects in order to later evaluate them and prioritize those to act on. It is necessary to
successfully identify and assess environmental aspects. The company must be clear
about the areas of incidence and what consequences the environmental impacts that they
generate or may generate will bring.
The possible causes-effects derived from the different environmental aspects and their
impacts are exposed.
To act on the environmental impacts, the The first step is to identify the environmental
aspects that are associated with the company, in order to later evaluate them and
determine which are the priorities, that is, those that can potentially generate a greater
environmental impact, and consequently, can act on it.
With the identification of environmental aspects, the company must take into account
the different conditions in which the activity is carried out, in addition to the different
processes and operations. It is very important to point out that the identification of the
different environmental aspects must be carried out at the beginning of the
implementation of the Environmental Management System, and afterwards, it is
considered appropriate that it be carried out on an annual basis or when a change is
made in the activity, product or service that the organization offers and that supposes
the appearance of new environmental aspects or significant modifications in the aspects
that have already been identified.
