ELECTIVES REPORT
The building of the factory was covered with curtain walls with
blue glass. As it was a glass factory unit, it was obvious that
most of the exterior and interior elements were made of glass.
There are three such glass processing units in India. In Mumbai,
Chennai and Hyderabad.
RAW MATERIALS (GLASS)
Silica (60%)
Cullet (19%)
Soda-ash (10%)
Dolomite (6%)
Lime stone (5%)
The types of glass processed in this factory used in architecture
are:
Tempered glass/Toughened glass
Heat strengthened glass
Heat soaked glass
Fine rated glass
Laminated glass
Insulated glass
Ceramic printed glass
Security glass
Decorative glass
As we entered the processing area, there were glass
movers everywhere which had small spherical wheels on
them which helped the glass panels to move from one
section to another. It insured faster and safe movement
of glass.
