HM 330 features a closed water circuit, and is fitted with two identical-
design pumps driven by speed-controlled motors as well as a switch
cabinet housing display and control elements. The water flow is
distributed by way of ball valves.
The pressure is measured on the intake and delivery side of the pump
with manometers. The flow rate is measured by a water meter. To
measure the power output, the motors are provided with a torque meter.
In experiments, the typical characteristic curves of a pump system are
recorded and the inter-dependencies between the flow rate, the delivery
head and the power demand are demonstrated. Characteristic variables
of pumps are determined from the measured values. Students are also
taught about the operating behaviour of centrifugal pumps, and are able
