INTRODUCTION
The skull anteroposterior (AP) view is a non-angled radiograph of
the skull that provides an overview of the entire skull rather than
attempting to highlight any one region.

This examination is able to assess for medial and lateral


displacements of skull fractures
INTRODUCTION

The skull lateral view is a non-angled lateral radiograph


of the skull. It is used to demonstrate the paranasal
sinuses, especially for the demonstration air-fluid levels
an indication of basal skull fracture.
PATIENT PROFILE
The 24-year-old patient was a construction worker brought to the x-ray
department bedridden with gauze wrapped around his bloodied head with
intense bleeding due to a laceration on his left ear.

The patient's companion witnessed the accident when a steel beam fell onto
the patient's head from a truck that he was standing beside. He explained how
the beam hit left side and how he fell on his right side.

Doctors have requested for head x-ray to see for depressed fractures on his
skull.
CASE PROCEDURE
DIAGNOSIS
There was no gross evidence of fracture or dislocation
seen in the views obtained.

Soft tissue swelling and injury are seen in the right


fronto-parietal region.
