1920's
The 1920's was very well known for "flappers"
Gentlemen Started Wearing "Knickerbockers" In 1925.
1930's
1930's fashion was still the same like in the 1920's not much has
changed.
1940'S
Flappers started going out of style in the late 1930's. Women's clothing transitioned into
more of utility clothing. Women now started wearing squared shoulder shirts,
narrowed skirts that were right above the knee. Also they were tailored suits that were
fitted to them.
1960's
1980's
1990'S
In the 1990s, Antifashion designers grabbed the attention of the indurstry by creating collection
with more neutral color palettes. There was an intellectual approach to fashion where minimal
structure was intentionally designed to be simple, yet fashionable.
In the mid-nineties, styles became more feminine again. Slip dresses epitomized the minimalist look
during this period.
2000's
The beginning of the 21st century saw the rise of fast fashion. The rise of the internet
age and technology also allowed brands to begin promoting their fashion online. In
the early 2000s, a popular trend was boho, or bohemian, clothing. Asymmetrical tops
and skirts, as well as maxi skirts, were also popular. In the late 2000s, hipster fashion
became popular thanks to influential internet sites such as Tumblr. Affordable fast
fashion brands such as Zara, H&M, and Forever 21 shaped this decade.
